+ If the unit i damaged, pleae do NOT return it to BEHRINGER, but notify your dealer and the hipping company immediately. Otherwie, claim for damage or replacement may not be granted. Pleae make ure the unit i provided with ufficient ventilation, and never place your EUROPOWER amp on top of other heatemanating equipment or in the vicinity of a heater to avoid the rik of overheating. The main connection i made via the encloed power cord and a tandard IEC receptacle. It meet all international afety certification requirement. + Pleae make ure that all unit have a proper ground connection. For your own afety, never remove or diable the ground conductor from the unit or the AC power cord. EUROPOWER EP1500/EP2500 ATTENTION! + We would like to bring your attention to the fact that extremely loud ound level may damage your hearing a well a your loudpeaker. Pleae lower both GAIN control leftward before powering up the unit. Be ure to keep the volume at an appropriate level. 2. CONTROL ELEMENTS Since control element of both the EP1500 and the EP2500 are identical, we have ued the EP1500 a the model repreented in the illutration to aure implicity. 2.1 Front panel Fig. 2.1: Front panel control element The main witch i ued to power up the amp. Ventilation opening are located at the front of the unit, o that hot air i prevented from being trapped inide the unit, thu cauing faulty operation or even damage. The CLIP LED light up when the ignal i ditorted. Should ditortion occur, reduce the input level, o that the CLIP LED top lighting up. The SIGNAL LED light up a long a a ignal i preent at the input. The GAIN control (channel 1 and 2) i ued for etting up the input gain. The POWER LED light up a oon a the unit i powered up. 2.2 Rear panel Fig. 2.2: Rear panel control element Thee are the balanced XLR input (channel 1 and 2). Thee are the tereo 1/4" TRS input (channel 1 and 2). They can alo be ued with unbalanced plug. For further information on Speakon connector pleae refer to chapter 4.1. Thee are the output terminal (channel 1 and 2). When running in mono, pleae make ure to ue both middle connector to connect your loudpeaker. BREAKER (automated fue). After eliminating the caue of faulty operation, imply depre the BREAKER and power up the unit again. The BREAKER act in place of common dicardable fue. + Attention: Before engaging the BREAKER witch, you hould power down the unit (POWER witch et to OFF)! Power i upplied via an IEC connector. The matching cable i provided with the unit. SERIAL NUMBER of your EUROPOWER. Pleae take the time and end u the completely filled out warranty card within 14 day of the date of purchae. You may alo regiter online at Here you can find a detailed overview of the individual MODE SWITCHES function ( ). 2.3 Configuration witche (MODE SWITCHES) You hould et up the filter o they bet uit the frequency repone of your peaker, ince ome peaker (e.g. ba reflex peaker) are particularly enitive to over-excurion below the lited frequency range. The 50 Hz filter hould be engaged when uing broadband peaker becaue the filter provide a moderate amplification in the 100-Hz range, reulting in a fuller ound. The 30 Hz filter i ideally uited for ubwoofer operation a well a for broadband cabinet. The Off etting hould be ued only for pecial application (e.g. tudio application), in which recognizing and ubequently removing infra-ound i important channel mode (tereo) Both channel of your amp function independently from one another in thi operating mode, and each ha it own input ignal. Two independent peaker are connected at the output. To activate thi operating mode, pleae et the MODE SWITCHES 4 and 5 to STEREO. + When running the unit in two-channel mode, the witche for mono-bridged mode mut be diengaged (dip witche 6 and 7 in left poition) Parallel mode Running in parallel mode enable you to feed a ignal via one of the input into both output. Each channel drive it own loudpeaker with independent amplification, filter and limit characteritic. To link the input, et the MODE SWITCHES 4 and 5 to PARALLEL INPUTS. + Mono-bridged mode witche mut be diengaged when running in parallel mode. With input et to parallel, you can ue the remaining input connector to feed the ignal into additional amplifier. Thi mean that the channel 2 input function a output. The parallel mode i well-uited for application in which driving two peaker with the ame ignal but with eparate amplification, filter and limiter etting i deired. Fig. 2.3: DIP-witche Clip limiter When the input ignal connected to your amp i too high, you end up with a ditorted output ignal. To prevent thi, both channel of your EUROPOWER feature a clip limiter that can be engaged or diengaged electively. The limiter automatically recognize ditortion and lower amplification until ditortion i reduced to a tolerable level. To preerve the dynamic characteritic of the ignal when low ditortion level are occurring, the clip limiter function with moderate uppreion. Ue witche 1 (ch. 1) and 10 (ch. 2) to activate the clip limiter. When uing broadband loudpeaker ytem, the clip limiter reduce high frequency ditortion which occur when an amplifier i overloaded. The driver are thu protected from being damaged Input filter The LF (high-pa) filter remove frequencie below 30 and 50 Hz repectively. The reproduction of the ignal ba portion i thu optimized, ince ultra-low, ditracting frequencie are eliminated, and more power i available for the reproduction of the wanted egment of the ignal. Engaging and diengaging the filter i done by uing the witche 3 (ch. 1) and 8 (ch. 2). Switche 2 (ch. 1) and 9 (ch. 2) determine the cut-off frequency. A long a the filter i diengaged, frequencie below 5 Hz are cut to prevent damage Mono-bridged mode Thi operating mode enable you to add up the repective voltage of both channel and ue it to drive a ingle loudpeaker. The voltage i therefore doubled, the peak power i quadrupled, and program power i roughly three time a high a that of the individual channel. The input, output, gain, filter and limiter control belonging to channel 1 are ued when running in monobridged mode. The control belonging to channel 2 are not ued. To prevent ignal cancellation due to internal phae inverion, the GAIN control belonging to channel 2 mut be turned to it leftmot poition. Ue thi operating mode to route the power from both channel to a ingle 8-Ohm or 4-Ohm load. To do o, et up the witche 6 and 7 to BRIDGE MODE ON. To ue the binding pot a your output, you MUST ue the two middle pot only. + The mono-bridged mode put added demand on amplifier and peaker. Exceive ditortion may occaionally completely mute the amp output a well a caue permanent damage to the peaker. Pleae aure that your peaker (minimal impedance 4 Ohm) a well a the cable ued can handle the extra power generated in thi mode CONTROL ELEMENTS

EUROPOWER EP1500/EP APPLICATIONS + Running EUROPOWER amplifier in conjunction with 8-Ohm peaker with a power rating of at leat 2 x 260 Watt (EP1500) and 2 x 450 Watt (EP2500) i recommended to aure optimal operation. 3.1 Difference between 2-channel, parallel and mono-bridged operating mode 2-channel mode i the mot common operating mode of amplifier. Both channel operate fully independently from one another. There i alway a eparate input ignal a well a a eparate output ignal. Example: 2-channel (tereo) playback Two independent mono ignal, e.g. intrument ignal and monitor mix Bi-amp operation, whereby ba frequencie are run on channel 1, and high frequencie on channel 2 (ee chapter 3.2, Bi-amping ). Fig. 3.2: DIP witch poition for 2-channel operation Parallel mode i identical to 2-channel mode, except for the input of both channel are internally connected in parallel. One input ignal route parallel both channel, while their filter etc. are independently controlled. Example: A mono ignal i fed into both channel, whereby amplification of each channel i controlled eparately. Parallel mode (a decribed above) with connection of an additional amp via the remaining free input connector. The input ignal i preent there, and may be connected to further equipment. + When connecting a balanced input ignal, pleae make ure to excluively ue balanced cable for paing the ignal further on. Otherwie, a ingle unbalanced cable can turn the entire ignal unbalanced. Fig. 3.1: 2-channel mode Fig. 3.3: Parallel operation 3. APPLICATIONS 7

Fig. 3.4: DIP witch poition for parallel operation When running in mono-bridged mode, the voltage of both channel i added up and fed into a ingle loudpeaker ytem. There i one input and one output ignal repectively, and only the control of channel 1 (and not of channel 2) are ued. + However, hould the DIP witche 4 and 5 till be in PARALLEL INPUTS poition while in monobridged mode, the ignal on the free input (input channel 2) can be forwarded to an additional amp. Example: Driving a ingle 8-Ohm loudpeaker. Driving a ingle 4-Ohm loudpeaker. Fig. 3.6: DIP witch poition for mono-bridged mode + When the amp i overdriven for longer period of time, the output ignal may occaionally be muted for everal econd. In certain ituation, exceive overdriving may trigger off the automated fue. To avoid overdriving the amp, pleae continually make ure that an appropriate volume level i applied. CAUTION: 2-Ohm load hould never be applied when in mono-bridged mode. + When connecting a balanced input ignal, pleae make ure to excluively ue balanced cable for paing the ignal further on. Otherwie, a ingle unbalanced cable can turn the entire ignal unbalanced. Safety precaution for mono-bridged operation Running your amp in mono-bridged mode can quickly reult in exceive overdriving and premature hutting down of the unit itelf. In the wort-cae cenario, your loudpeaker may be damaged permanently. Therefore, you hould alway make ure that the peaker you ue can indeed handle the power load fed into them. A voltage of up to 100 V RMS i preent between the output connector of the EP2500. Alway implement appropriate afety precaution when connecting your peaker to avoid the rik of electric hock. Fig. 3.5: Mono-bridged mode 3.2 Bi-amping By uing an active croover, you can divide up the frequency range into everal band. For example, in doing o you can plit a mono ignal into upper-frequency and lower-frequency range. Thee two ignal can then be hooked up to the input of your amp, o that channel 1 amplifie the low and channel 2 amplifie the high (2-channel operation). The output are connected to a 2-way peaker, whereby the output ignal 1 drive the woofer and output ignal 2 run the driver. Of coure, you can ue two eparate peaker intead of a ingle 2-way peaker. A tereo ignal can alo be plit up analogou to the example decribed above. However, to do that you need two 2-way peaker or 4 eparate peaker, two EUROPOWER amp and an active 2-way tereo croover. The BEHRINGER SUPER-X PRO CX2310 i optimally uited for thi tak and offer additionally a ingle mono-ubwoofer output. By deploying a third EP1500 amp (preferably in mono-bridged mode) and a ubwoofer, you have a perfect etup that add a low-frequency ytem to the tereo bi-amp application (ee fig. 3.4). The amp input filter for the high/mid-frequency range hould in thi cae be engaged and et at 50 Hz. To remove low, diturbing frequencie from the ignal, the input filter for the ubwoofer ignal hould be et at 30 Hz APPLICATIONS

EUROPOWER EP1500/EP2500 The BEHRINGER EUROLIVE SERIES loudpeaker are an outtanding olution for expanding your P.A. ytem, becaue each frequency range/application ha a peaker type that optimally uit it characteritic. + Extreme clip limiter etting in bi-amp operating mode can reult in balance hifting. 4. INSTALLATION Your EUROPOWER can be intalled into a 19" rack and require two rack unit. Pleae ue four attaching crew and waher for intallation. Reinforce the back end, epecially for on-theroad ue. Pleae aure that enough cool air reache the rack, epecially when other rack equipment emanate a lot of heat. In the cae of the EUROPOWER EP1500 and EP2500, hot air circulate at the front of the unit to thermally relieve the rack encloure. + Fan peed adjut automatically and aure afe operation. Never block ventilation opening. Should internal temperature reach extreme value, the unit will hut down automatically. 4.1 Connection Input Each channel feature balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS tereo jack input, with input impedance of 20 kω (balanced) and 10 kω (unbalanced). In general, balanced ignal caue le noie than unbalanced ignal. For balanced input ignal, ue the XLR and 1/4" TRS tereo input. For unbalanced input ignal, ue the unued pin of the XLR connector with grounding. No alteration i neceary on mono jack connector (ee plug type illutration on page 10). + Should you regiter ditractive ignal uch a noie or hiing, we recommend eparating the amp input from the ignal ource. Thi way, you can quickly determine if the noie originate in the equipment connected to the amp. Alway make ure to completely lower amplification of both channel before powering up the amp (GAIN control turned all the way leftward). Otherwie, permanent damage to your peaker may occur. Output Your EUROPOWER offer everal output connection poibilitie: two Neutrik NL4MD Speakon connector and two pair of touch-afe binding pot. The Speakon connector were epecially developed for driving high-power peaker. They nap in ecurely, prevent electric hock and aure correct polarity. The upper Speakon connector drive either one or both channel, and i therefore well-uited for mono-bridged operation (1+/2+). The lower connector carrie the ignal from channel 2 only. Fig. 3.7: Stereo bi-amp mode with a eparate ubwoofer Fig. 4.1: Speakon connector + Whenever poible, ue thick and hort peaker cable to minimize power loe. Never lay out output cable near input cable. 4. INSTALLATION 9

When uing binding pot connector, pleae make ure that inulation on cable i not removed too high. Inert the naked part of the cable fully o that no metal i viible. Cable clamp mut be iolated to avoid the poibility of electric hock. When running the amp in mono-bridged mode, alway ue the middle two binding pot connector, paying attention to correct polarity. + ATTENTION! If you notice naked cable ending on the binding pot connector, do not power up the amp becaue of the rik of electric hock. Connecting to the main Alway connect your EUROPOWER amplifier to the voltage pecified on the rear of the device. Connecting the amp to an incorrect voltage can permanetly damage your amp. Before powering up the amplifier, double-check all connection and fully lower the gain etting. Fig. 4.4: 1/4" TRS connector 4.2 Audio connection Variou cable are needed for different type of application. The following illutration how the correct wiring. Alway ue high-grade cable. + When connecting a balanced input ignal, pleae make ure to excluively ue balanced cable for paing the ignal further on. Otherwie, one ingle unbalanced cable can turn the entire ignal unbalanced. Fig. 4.2: XLR connection Fig. 4.3: 1/4" TS connector INSTALLATION
