Timeliness of DBNet Data in Tokyo-Jincheon 5

Change of MetOp IASI GTS header(wmo-00 format) ( ) - There was a request from DWD(Deutscher Wetterdienst) to add GTS headers - WMO DBNet Guide says that addition of these headers is optional - To add GTS header file: 1. gtsheaders_bufr.pl iasi.bufr ${newiasiname} INQX RKSL 2. Adding environment variables - export USE_OB_TIME=Y This will only work properly if BUFR section 1 contains observation times rather than product generation time. - export LOCAL_TABLE=0 You need special local BUFR tables to decode it. 6

Remove AAPP version identifiers in DBNet BUFR files ( ) - DWD s ingest system cannot cope with the AAPP version identifiers that are present in DBNet BUFR files - Add the option -v none before call aapp_encodebufr_1c ex) aapp_encodebufr_1c i file v none instrument - This applies to all data AMSU, MHS, HIRS, IASI remove Before After 1

Correction of Global ATOVS Wavenumber value difference between KMA s and MetOffice s ( ) - We switch AAPP encoding command from EncodeHIRS_1d.exe to aapp_encodebufr_1c after Channel 13~19 MetOffice KMA/NMSC Exact match with MetOffice!! 1

Correction of Land/Sea Qualifier information ( ) - Change the coast distance threshold in our local processing - Edit the configuration file(aapp/include/ppifdata.h) to downsize IboxSize to 50km (the default is 100km) after IboxSize = 100km (0: Land, 1: Sea, 2: Coast, 3: Missing value) IboxSize = 50km Exact match with MetOffice!! 1
