First aid: artificial breathing(mouth to mouth) In case of electric shock you have to ensure the first aids to the patient, but to do this you have to consider two very important things: - interrupt immediately the electric circuit; - if the circuit has not been interrupted, do not touch the patient with bare hands; After doing this, without delay contact the nearest mobile unit of first aid and practice to the patient, in case of loss of consciousness, the breathing mouth to mouth as described below. Put the patient lying on his back with the arms parallel to the body, ensure that he does not have the breathing tracts obstructed (chewing-gum, dental prosthesis, etc.), otherwise set him free from foreign bodies. Kneel near the patient s head and putting a hand under his neck, incline as possible his/her head backwards. Going on with keeping the patient s head inclined with one hand, use the other one to occlude the nostrils, if you are going to practise the breathing through the oral cavity, or occlude the mouth if you want to do it through the nasal cavity. While doing this begin the auto-oxygenation, with deep breathing. Then practice the artificial breathing blowing in the chosen cavity beginning with ten expirations each minute to go on them with twelve and fifteen. 4 During the breathing procedure you have to control that the patient s chest dilates, otherwise change cavity where to blow the air because the previous one could be obstructed. 5 Do not ever stop the artificial breathing until the patient has recovered or the first aid unit has come Rev. 6 1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The works as DVB-T modulator. The board allows to obtain the digital modulation in according with the DVB-T standard transport stream transmission. The next page shows the block scheme. We can split up the block scheme reported in fig 1.1 into different section below depicted: Input section. Reference and Oscillator section. Modulator section. Analog section. AGC section. Controller section. FIG Rev. D Arch /03/2017 6

1.1.1 Input section FIG. 1.2 The board is composed by four input. The ASI 1 and ASI 2 are physical input represented by the BNC connector located on the board panel (see chapter 2). The maximum transport stream bit rate for this inputs is 216 Mbit/sec. The INT MPX and INT DEC are two internal input directly connected to the internal matrix line of the EK-MFR/1 (see EK-MFR/1 user s manual). The maximum transport stream bit rate for this inputs is 54 Mbit/sec. Like the figure 1.2 shows, every transport stream input is processed by two block: PID DETECTOR and PACKET FILTER. The PID DETECTOR verify that the PID of the NIT,MIP and PAT tables are allocated in the transport stream. If one of this PID is not present an alarm occurs. The PACKET FILTER, in MFN mode, allows to delete the stuffing packets present on the transport stream, so after the PKT FLT block it is possible to read the real transport stream bit rate.(every input have a bit rate meter associated). ASI 1, ASI 2, INT MPX, INT DEC are connected to the input mux. The user, by the menu, can set the in variable to determinate which of the four input must be selected to use. 7

1.1.2 Reference and Oscillator section FIG. 1.3 Each DVB-T transmitter needs an univocal time reference to be synchronized into a symbol fraction. To do this the 1pps of a GPS signal can be used. The GPS receiver block (RX GPS), receives the signal from the GPS IN connector (see chapter 2) While the GPS receiver is correctly locked an accurate timing signal is provided at its 1pps output (1pps_GPS), moreover GPS_fix output is set to high so the 1pps signal is carried out to the EK_MFR in order to be used by other boards (1pps_out). The Sat variable located in the Status menu of the board gives information about the number of the received satellites. The 1pps can be taken from two other sources: an internal reference INT (MFN mode only) or an external reference (EXT) such as the 1pps signal coming from another board. A detector (Det) checks the presence of the incoming external 1pps. To select which signal to use as reference to synchronized the transmitter, a variable Ref can be set by the menu (see 3.2). The alarms management, respect to selected reference (Ref), is explained in the table below. Ref GPS IN EXT Ref State GPS X - No GPS Ref! Ext - X No Ext Ref! Int - - Int OK Auto X No GPS Ref! Auto X No Ext Ref! Auto X X No Refs! Note: - = any condition, = present signal, X= absent signal The oscillator section allows to lock the 10 MHz frequency generated by the VCXO to the 1 pps reference. The 10 MHz reference clock is also used to lock the PLL in the local oscillator generation (see analog section 1.2.5) Rev. D Arch /03/2017

1.1.3 Modulator section TS FIG. 1.4 The signal coming from the input mux is processed to substitute the Network Information Table in the MFN mode allowing the change of the parameters of the incoming table. The PCR block also used in the MFN mode adapts the bit rate at the outgoing value and also restamp the PCR with the calculated value due to the time shift needed for the packet stuffing. The OFDM modulator generates the symbols processing the TS in respect of ETSI EN , on the TPS are added all the flags regarding modulation value, cell id and so on. A separated block allow the synchronization of the modulator to generate the frame exactly in the moment needed for the SFN operation, the DDR2 memory store the incoming transport stream for the time needed to respect and follow the Maximum delay parameter contained in the Megaframe Insertion Packet. The microprocessor add to the Maximum delay value also the value eventually contained in the Time offset function coming from the MIP, this value represented in the menu as "Ofs" is settable also manually but it takes again the value from the MIP if the function for this Tx Id is transmitted. The "Dyn" value represents the actual delay value inserted by the to transmit the symbol at the requested time. On the output of the OFDM modulator are present the I and Q signals that are sent to the precorrector block. This block allows to compensate the amplitude and phase non-linear distortion introduced by the amplifiers chain, the K values allow for the compensation of the amplitude and the P for the phase. 9

1.1.4 Analog section FIG. 1.5 The I and Q signal coming from the modulator section are digital to analog converted first and then low pass filtered to obtain the base band frequency signal BB (0 to 4MHz). The BB signals are mixed with the OL signal coming from the PLL, its frequency is related to the output frequency set with the Tx variable. At the out of the mixers the two RF component (0 and 90 ) are combined to obtain the output RF signal Rev. D Arch /03/

1.1.5 AGC section FIG. 1.6 This section allows to control and power out level of the board. The microprocessor controls the gain of the output amplifier in respect of several parameters. Two true RMS detector are present to allow this behavioural that is describet in the 1.3 parag. 11

1.1.6 Controller section FIG. 1.7 It is possible to obtain a complete view of the status of the board thanks to the Controller section. Every variable of every menu of the board can be set by the user and the status of this variable is in real time controlled. When an alarm occurs, the controller shows the name of the variable in alarm on the EK-MFR/1 display Rev. D Arch /03/

1.2 AGC setting procedure FIG. 1.8 In order to control the power level and to avoid damage to the external amplifier it is very important to apply the follow procedure: 1) Verify that: Amplifier nominal power[dbm] > ( 15dBm + Amp[dB] ) 2) If not verified adjust Amp[dB] in order to satisfy point 1) 3) Assure that the amplifier module is correctly connected to the antenna and turned off. 2) Switch on the EK-MFR/1 and set the board variables as follow: Out lev = -15 dbm Mode = RF Off Max lev = 0 dbm Thres = -20 db Tx = desired frequency 4) Connect the board with the external amplifier module: The SMA TX connector with the RF input of the amplifier The SMA DET connector with the monitory output of the amplifier 5) Turn on the amplifier. 6) Set the Mode parameter to the Int value. 13

7) Adjust the Out lev parameter to obtain, on the output of the amplifier the desired power value. 8) Read the value of the Out and Det parameter (see Status menu). 9) Set the Mode parameter on the RF Off value. 10) Set the Out lev at the same value of the Det parameter detected on the point 8). 11) Set the Max lev value (Out lev + 1 db usually) 12) Set the Mode parameter on the Ext value. 13) Wait until the AGC is correctly regulated (Det = Out lev). The board driving correctly the amplifier, the power out is constant maintained. 14) Set the Thres (Option). This option allows to check the amplifier gain variation respect to the normal operation. When a functional problem occurs and the amplifier gain decreases significantly, the output level is reduced automatically in order to prevent a damage on the amplifier. The Thres parameter is the threshold level and when is set to 20 db the threshold option is disabled. To enable this option the user can set a value included in the range [ 19.9 : +15 db], and the proper threshold value can be calculated using the following formula: Thres = Det Out X. where: Det = monitory output level amplifier (detected on point 8). Out = output level of (detected on point 8). X = maximum allowed variation of amplifier gain respect to the normal run (positive number expressed in db). Note : these value must be taken during the normal run. When the threshold level is passed, the reduces the Max lev automatically value by 6 db and the Thres alarm is displayed in State of Status menu Rev. D Arch /03/

If the Amplifier supplies a signal to squelch the exciter during alarms and power on it is possible to use Condition Builder (from the Eurotek Software Suite) to switch off the RF (see the next example). We suppose that the amplifier connected to the board, supplies a voltage signal that, if it is < of 5V means that the amplifier is in fault condition, so it is necessary to switch off the RF signal of the board to preserve the amplifier module. FIG. 1.9 It is necessary to connect the voltage supplied by the amplifier and the relative ground, to the EK- PWS/x board of the EK-MFR/1. Like the figure 1.10 shows the voltage signal must be connected with the pin number 17 (Volt in 1) of the 25 sub-d connector. The ground must be connected with the ground of the EK-PWS/x (pin 16). (See EK-PWS/x user s manual, Auxiliary connector). So, the EK-MFR/1 can read the Voltage value coming from the Amplifier (see EK-MFR/1 user s manual, Miscellaneus menu => Volt in 1). Now using the Eurotek Condition Builder software, it is possible to switch off the RF signal of the in according with the value displayed on the Volt in 1 field. 15

When the Condition Builder software is launched the following window appears. In the top righ angle of the window, the user must the: Target Board = Target Param = Mode Set Target to = EXT (AGC in manual mode) Comment = user s comment (No Alarm for example) In this manner, the board works in manual AGC during normal working condition (Mode = Ext). Now the user must insert the condition to control the RF switch off Rev. D Arch /03/

To do this,it is necessary to click the Add Condition label on the top left of the window. Now the user must to specify the which variable event must be used to control the Target board parameter: Slot = Main (EK-MFR/1) Parameter = Volt in 1 IF From = 0.0 To = 5.0 Set target to = RF Off Comment = Amp Alarm (for example) Click on the Apply button to confirm the settings. With the above setting, the RF signal of the is switched off when the Volt in 1 variable is included in the range 0V 5V. This condition could be modified or other conditions could be added upon customer needs. 17
