To celebrate 80 years of nurturing the creative spirit, Hambidge Fellows were invited to be part of Mailbox by inventively altering a card and sending it back to the gallery. Inspired by the Fluxus movement, mail art is collaboration in small scale, sent through the post; it's about communication, exchange, community and fun. Curated by Didi Dunphy, the exhibition includes 101 artworks from visual artists, writers, composers and dancers from 18 different states. The exhibition is on through September 13, 2014 About For 80 years, the Hambidge Center has awarded residency fellowships to distinguished artists and scientists at our 600-acre creative sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains. About the Curator, Hambidge Fellow Didi Dunphy: In addition to being an exhibiting artist and designer, as well as a former Visiting Scholar and Professor in the contemporary and digital media arts at the Lamar Dodd School of Art, UGA, Ms. Dunphy works in the curatorial field as the Gallery Director at the Hotel-Indigo-Athens, Indigo's GlassCube project space.
