1 Dates of Exhibition : 23 and 24 July 2001 Venue : Arts Exhibition Hall #05-01, Braddell Heights CC 50 Serangoon Ave 2 (556129) Jointly organised by Braddell Heights CCMC,IRCC,RCs,and NCs and supported by SECDC and Braddell Heights CCC in conjunction with Racial Harmony Day Objective To promote better understanding, strengthen bonds and build network of trust amongst our multi-racial and multi-religious communities. Eligibility 1. This competition is open to all members of the public, except immediate members of the Organising Committee. 2. Entries for the competition must capture the essence of harmony in diversity as reflected through Singapore s sights, scenes, landscapes, buildings, architecture, people, activities, cultures and traditions. This is only a guide and is not exhaustive. 3. Each participant shall be entitled to only one prize, regardless of the number of entries submitted. 4. Entries must be the sole, original and unpublished work of the participant. 5. Digital manipulation that distorts the originality of the photos is not allowed. Only basic enhancements such as sharpening, contrast adjustment, converting color images to black and white is allowed. 6. Any submission depicting or implying pornographic, slanderous, obscene or vulgar content would be immediately disqualified. 1

2 Submission 7. Closing date is 9:00pm, 9 July 2011 (Saturday). To participate, submit a photo CD and a Super 8R print-out of your photo entries along with a duly completed and signed application form to: c/o: Lenses of Harmony Photography Competition committee Braddell Heights Community Club 50 Serangoon Avenue 2, Singapore Each participant can only submit 1 application form, and a maximum of 3 photo entries. Note: The resolution of the photos must be in JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 3 mega pixels. A maximum of 3 photos in Super 8R print, accompanied by a photo CD, may be submitted with each entry. The photos may be in colour or monochrome. Each photo must be accompanied by a title. You may also include a caption of not more than 100 words on what each photo represents. Title and caption (optional) must be included on the application form. All entries must be labelled in the following formats: Photo CD entries must be labeled as follows: Full Name_Phone No. _Title_Photo No. For example. Tan_Heng_Heng_ _LensesOfHarmony_01 Tan_Heng_Heng_ _LensesOfHarmony_02 Prints and photo CDs submitted will not be returned and shall remain the property of the Organisers. Entries received after the closing date and time will not be accepted. Judging 9. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence pertaining to the judging and short listing process will be entertained. 2

3 Organisers Rights 10. The Organisers (defined as): - Braddell Heights Community Club - Braddell Heights IRCC - Braddell Heights Residents` Committees - Braddell Heights Neighbourhood Committees Reserve the right to exhibit, edit the entry s title and use the winning entries for publicity and marketing purposes before, during and after the competition. The winning images shall remain the property of the Organisers who reserve the right to use them in any manner deemed, without payment of any fee to the participants. May use a participant s winning image for promotional activities; in such an event, the Organisers will award the participant a Certificate of Appreciation. Where participants works are selected for printing in a coffee table book, he/she will be given a copy of the book as a token of appreciation. Have the right to use the selected works on a touring exhibition within Singapore and overseas; Will exercise every care in handling the photos but will not be responsible for any damages or loss when in its possession or in transit; Have the right to disqualify any entry submitted which does not comply to the rules and regulations, or copyright infringements; and will not be liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the participants; Reserve the right to modify the competition prizes and its rules and regulations as appropriate, without prior notice. 11. The submission of entries signifies acceptance of the above rules and regulations. Non-compliance may result in disqualification. 3

4 Participants Declaration 12. All participants must declare that they own the sole copyright of entries. The Organisers reserve the right to disqualify prize winners who do not own the copyrights to their entries and to recover the prizes that have been awarded to them. 4

I also agree that the Organisers, their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, satellite providers, events, advertising and promotions agencies, and their respective officers, Directors, and employees shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this event or from the acceptance or use/misuse of the prize awarded. This includes, without limitation, personal injury, death, property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
