3 Motivation for value added products Advertising is most important source of revenue for newspapers Results of Ipsos study on value added magazine products: 89% of readers are attracted by interactive inserts 75% female readers are attracted by perfume samples 66% like inserts which can be taken to shopping 80% have tried out a product sample 27% of readers have taken a product sample to a shop But as long as only a few newspapers/printers can realize certain new technologies the market will only slowly evolve because agencies can not make country-wide campaigns

4 Attractive design Adverts in newspapers became square because of layouting speed and ease of production The mindset from the last millennium still affects the newspaper design Since offset printing and DTP are available more attractive designs can be made:
