Florence has an array of iconic places to visit from the Duomo with Brunelleschi's famous dome, to Santa Croce Church where most of the well known artists were buried. Follow in the footsteps of the Medici family whose history is so closely entwined with the city. There are reminders of them everywhere. From the very existence of the Vasari Corridor connecting the Palazzo Uffizi to the Pitti Palace, the statues of the Medici celebrated in the streets, and the Medici Chapels where they were laid to rest. Florence could not be more ideally placed for extending your break to Siena for the Palio Race, Rome, Milan, Verona or Venice.
