Day 2 : SRINAGAR - EXCURSION TO SONMARG (82 KMS / APPROX. 4 HOUR DRIVE) Today, embark on a full day excursion to the picturesque 'meadow of gold'- Sonmarg. The fast flowing Sindh river makes it popular for trout and mahseer fishing in summer. You can opt for a pony ride (on direct payment basis) to one of the glaciers for some fun in the snow and ice. Return to your hotel in Srinagar in the evening. The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in Srinagar (B) Day 3 : SRINAGAR - EXCURSION TO GULMARG (52 KMS / APPROX. 2 HOUR DRIVE) This morning, proceed to Gulmarg driving past willow trees, fast flowing streams and lush green meadows. Gulmarg - the 'Meadow of Flowers' is an apt term for this idyllic flower - laden spot, offering a spectacular view of towering snow capped peaks covered with dense forests of tall conifers, gigantic firs and pine trees. The rest of the evening is at leisure. You may wish to stroll leisurely across the green meadows to one of the world's highest Golf Course. You may also wish to take a fun-filled ride in the Gondola (on your own). Overnight in Srinagar (B) Day 4 : ON TO PAHALGAM (97 KMS / APPROX. 3 HOUR DRIVE) Today, depart for Pahalgam, the 'valley of shepherds' which is situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from the River Lidder and Sheshnag Lake. En route visit the Awantipura Ruins, an 1100 year old temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and built by King Awantivarman. On arrival

4 in Pahalgam, check-in to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this popular tourist destination of Pahalgam (on your own). Overnight in Pahalgam (B) Day 5 : ON TO SRINAGAR (97 KMS / APPROX. 3 HOUR DRIVE) Today, you will return to Srinagar. On arrival, check-in to your houseboat. In the afternoon, visit the Shankracharya Temple situated atop a hill followed by the famous Mughal Gardens - Chasmashahi, Nishad and Shalimar (Closed on Friday). These gardens were where Mughal emperors once relaxed with their exquisite queens and even today are popular picnic spots. Enjoy a romantic Shikara ride on the famous Dal Lake. The Mughal Gardens - Chasmashahi, Nishad and Shalimar, are closed on Friday. Water supply in the hills during the peak season is restricted due to shortage and water is supplied area wise at specific times. Please co-operate with the hotel on same. The vehicle will drop and pick you up from the Sonmarg and Gulmarg car stand. Do carry comfortable walking shoes. All sightseeing is subject to weather conditions, political conditions in the destination. In Gulmarg and Sonmarg the vehicle will be stopped at a predesignated parking place by the local taxi / pony union.
