2 Book now WATTS GALLERY - ARTISTS VILLAGE Galleries Chapel Artists Home & Studios Join us at the Artists Village in 2017 for our historic bicentennial year, celebrating 200 years of George Frederic Watts. Explore the newly opened Watts Studios dedicated to the work of G F and Mary Watts, and gain insight into the space where they created their masterpieces. Discover inspiring cross-curricular learning through art, architecture and design themes, which supports the national curriculum and post-14 exam syllabuses. G F and Mary Watts passionately believed that art was for everyone. They helped young and emerging artists, teaching art and design to people with little access to it. This practice continues today with our contemporary art and learning programme for all ages. A class visit will support learning objectives in the national curriculum and post-14 exam syllabuses and contribute to students spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. The learning I observed was based on excellent first-hand experiences and offered the children real opportunities to engage with the art which surrounded them. The range of activities allowed the children to stay on task and fresh throughout the day.
