36 Eleanor Turvey 1968 (Botswana). Turvey changed careers and became a full-time artist in She is self-taught. Her preferred medium is mixed media collage working with canvas, paper, ink and acrylic paint. In 2013 she was selected as one of 40 finalists in the Sanlam Portrait Award. She is currently working towards a solo exhibition in Nicola Roos 1994 (South Africa). Roos is a third year fine art student at Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town, where she is specialising in sculpture. This is her first exhibition. Nomusa Makhubu 1984 (South Africa). Makhubu is an art historian and award winning lens-based artist. I have always been drawn to the historical and documentary aspect in photography. In the projects I have completed or those that are still in progress, I question the documentary nature of photography through performance, collage or using surfaces such as windscreens to interfere with the seemingly neutral pictorial space. Jan Neethling 1938 (England). Neethling studied fine art at the Pretoria Technical College between 1958 and It was here where where he met his lifelong mentor, friend and fellow artist, Robert Hodgins who was a lecturer at the College. Neethling has participated in numerous two-person exhibition since the 1970 s. In 2008 he had his debut solo exhibition. A publication of his life and work was released in Hannalie Taute 1977 (South Africa). Taute is an artist who has since her student days found her inspiration in fairy tales. In 2012 she changed her preferred medium of working with found objects to working with rubber and embroidery. Karlien de Villiers 1975 (South Africa). De Villiers is an established painter, illustrator and comic artist based in Cape Town. She is currently finishing her second graphic novel titled, Les Femmes Sauvages. Her first graphic novel, Mein Mutter war eine schöne Frau, not only won her awards but was also translated into several languages. Jeanne Hoffman 1978 (South Africa). Hoffman has lived and worked in South Africa and Europe for more than a decade. Travelling and working in different locations, my approach and process alternate between two poles: nest-builder and nomad. In my work I build temporary shelters for thoughts - wandering from one place to another, collecting observations, experiences and meaning.

37 Gerhard Human 1980 (South Africa). Human is a Cape-Town based graphic designer, illustrator and artist. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and collaborative projects since I have always loved working on paper. I love the finality of putting ink down on paper. There is no room for error and also no room for doubts. Wim Legrand 1978 (Belgium). Legrand is an illustrator and artist, and currently lives and works in Cape Town. After completing his Visual Art studies in 2000, he honed his professional skills as master printmaker at a prominent international centre for graphic arts in Belgium. He returned to Cape Town and in 2014 he founded Black River Studio, a production space which offers fine art screen printing services. St.John Fuller 1964 (South Africa). Fuller s photography offers both an extended view of time as well as multiple perspectives. His images are based on a singular moment - the exposure time required by his self-made multi-apeture pinhole cameras. Studying History at tertiary level shifted Fuller s focus towards time and the various ways in which it is witnessed, recorded and then re-witnessed ad infinitum. His photographs present an inclusive event with multiple vantage points, where each frame is non-discreet. Verna Leigh Jooste Jooste is a jewellery designer and full-time lecturer who started her career more than 17 years ago when she first exhibited her finely hand crafted miniature toys made from sterling silver and gem stones. Since then she has participated in more than 33 exhibitions both locally and abroad and has been a finalist in numerous art competitions. Rory Emmett 1992 (South Africa). Emmett completed his BAFA at Michealis School of Fine Art, Cape Town in 2014, he specialised in painting. He is a Sanlam Portrait Award top 100 finalist 2015 and a Top 10 Finalist for Sasol New Signatures This is his first exhibition at ErdmannContemporary. Clare Menck 1969 (South Africa). Mid-career artist Clare Menck needs no introduction. She has participated in numerous solo, museum and group exhibitions both locally and internationally and her works are included in museum, corproate and private collections across the globe. Included in this exhibition are two recent paintings completed earlier this year during an artist s residency at Murati Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. Ingrid E. Uys Uys is a fine artist living and working in Johannesburg. She is primarily known as an abstract and landscape painter.
