Sand wood and metal surfaces lightly between coats to achieve required finish. G. Vacuum clean surfaces of loose particles. Use tack cloth to remove dust and particles just prior to applying next coat. H. Wood to Receive Transparent Finishes: Tint fillers to match wood. Work fillers into the grain before set. Wipe excess from surface. I. Reinstall electrical cover plates, hardware, light fixture trim, escutcheons, and fittings removed prior to finishing and remove any tape used for masking FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A. See Section Quality Requirements, for general requirements for field inspection and testing. B. Dunkirk City School District will provide field testing. 1. Owner reserves the right to invoke the following test procedure at any time and as often as Owner deems necessary during the period when paint is being applied a. Owner will engage a qualified independent testing agency to sample paint material being used. Samples of material delivered to Project will be taken, identified, sealed, and certified in the presence of Contractor. b. Testing agency will perform appropriate tests as required by Owner: c. Owner may direct Contractor to stop painting if test results show material being used does not comply with specified requirements. Contractor shall remove noncomplying paint from Project site, pay for testing, and repaint surfaces previously coated with the non-complying paint. If necessary, Contractor may be required to remove non-complying paint from previously painted surfaces if, on repainting with specified paint, the two coatings are incompatible

10 3.05 CLEANING A. Collect waste material that could constitute a fire hazard, place in closed metal containers, and remove daily from site PROTECTION A. Protect finished coatings until completion of project. B. Touch-up damaged coatings after Substantial Completion. END OF SECTION
