1 Platamon A curved semi-circular shawl, worked from the top down. Garter stitch stripes and eyelets add interest while showing off your favorite hand painted or hand spun yarn. Yarn: 2 skeins of sock yarn, approx. 4 oz each This shawl was knit with Schaefer Yarn Company Heather in Emma Jacobson (variegated) and Squoosh Fiberarts Ultra Sock in Beachcomber (semi-solid blue). Finished size: 50 inches (128 cm) across top, 19 inches (48 cm) deep at center after blocking. Gauge: 18 sts / 24 rows 4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking. Small differences in gauge are fine for this project, however your gauge will affect the size and drape of the finished shawl, as well as the amount of yarn you'll need. If you are in between two needle sizes, choose the larger one. Needles: Circular needle with a long cord in the size that gives you the above gauge and a needle one or two sizes larger, which you will use only for casting off. 5 **Notes If your MC yarn runs out between rows 125 and 130, end with a WS row. Begin with CC on a RS row and continue with the pattern as written. I had about 10 gr left of my CC yarn. If you want to make the final garter stitch section longer, continue like this: Row 150: Knit Row 151: (Increase row) K3, YO, *(K4, YO) repeat from * to last few stitches, K Row 152: K all YOs through back loop, K all other sts Continue working in garter stitch, with increase rows every 8-10 rows.
