1 Knit a Pud Help St Clare by making a knitted Christmas Pudding to fit over a Ferrero Rocher or a Lindt truffle. These can then be sold in aid of the Hospice in our Reception area and at selected local shops and GP surgeries. What you need: 1 Ferrero Rocher or Lindt truffle DK yarn: brown, green, red and white 4mm needles (Optional: green felt) Knitting Pattern Abbreviations K = Knit P = Purl S = Slip stitch Psso = Pass slip stitch over Inc = Increase ( ) = Repeat With brown yarn, cast on 21 stitches (st) Row 1: S1, (K1, P1) to last 2 stitches, K2 Row 2: S1, (P1, K1) repeat to end Repeat these 2 rows 3 more times Knit as many puds as you can and then send them into us at: Community Fundraising Team, St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood, Essex, CM17 9JX You can send them in at any time of year as we can use them next year too! 2 Holly Leaves, knitted (make 2) With green yarn, cast on 1 Row 1: Knit Row 2: K3 times into the stitch = 3 sts Row 3: Knit front and back into the first stitch, K1, knit front and back into 3 rd stitch = 5 sts Row 4: Cast off 1 stitch, K3 = 4 sts Row 5: Cast off 1 stitch, K2 = 3 sts Row 6: As row 3 Row 7: As row 4 Row 8: As row 5 Row 9: S1, K2 together psso = 1 sts Row 10: As row 2 Row 11: As row 3 Row 12: As row 4 Row 13: As row 5 Row 14: As row 3 Row 15: As row 4 Row 16: As row 5 Row 17: As row 9 Fasten off Holly Leaves, felt (make 2/3) With green felt, cut out a tiny holly shape. Sew onto the pudding, securely. Berry With red yarn, cast on 3 sts Row 1: Knit in front and back of every st = 6 sts Row 2: Purl Row 3: K2 together 3 times = 3st Cast off purl wise Sew berry onto pudding. Fill with a Ferrero Rocher or Lindt truffle. Tie a thin piece of ribbon around the neck and tie in a bow.

4 Eyes, beak and tail For the eyes, cut out two circles of white felt, and two smaller circles of black felt. Sew the black felt onto the white felt in your desired position. Sew the eyes on to the top half of the body. For the nose, cut out a small triangle of orange felt. Fold it together lengthways and sew onto body, below eyes. For the tail, cut out a W shape in brown felt and sew on to bottom edge of back of body.

6 Santa Hat With white yarn, cast on 20 sts Knit one row Change to red yarn Row 1: Knit Row 2: Purl Row 3: K1, K2 together (K2, K2 together) to last st K1 = 15 sts Row 4: Purl Row 5: Knit Row 6: Purl Row 7: K2, K2 together, K1, K2 together, K1, K2 together, K1, K2 together, K2 = 11sts Row 8: Purl Row 9: K1, K2 together, K1, K2 together, K1, K2 together, K2 = 8 sts Row 10: Purl Row 11: K2 together to end = 4 sts Row 12: P2 together = 2 sts Cut yarn, thread through sts and fasten off tightly Santa Beard With white yarn, cast on 3 sts Row 1: K1, inc in next st, K1 = 4 sts Row 2: Knit Row 3: Inc in 1 st st, K2, inc in last st = 6 sts Row 4: Knit Row 5: Inc in 1 st st, K4, inc in last st = 8 sts Row 6: Knit Row 7: Inc in 1 st sts, K6, inc in kast st = 10 sts Row 8: Knit Row 9: Knit Cast off Making up With red yarn, seam the body of the figure to neckline Tighten the yarn running through the last row of the red stitches to make neck Seam half the head and add a little stuffing before completing the seam Eyes can be made with seed beads, yarn, embroidery threads, gems, or whatever you prefer If sewing eyes on, place them before securing the hat to the head so you can hide the ends of the threads at the back of the head Sew hat and beard into position Fill body with Ferrero Rocher or Lindt truffle

8 Snowman Hat In yarn of your choice, cast on 24 sts Row 1: Knit Row 2: Purl Row 3: K2 together to end = 12 sts Cut yarn and thread through the sts to form a cone shape and sew sides together Snowman Scarf In yarn of your choice, cast on 3 sts and knit each row for approximately 6 inches Making up Prior to sewing up the body, using black wool add 3 sts for buttons With white yarn, seam the body of the figure to neckline Tighten the yarn running through the last row of the body to make neck Seam half the head and add a little stuffing before completing the seam Eyes and mouth can be made with seed beads, yarn, embroidery threads, gems, or whatever you prefer.
