2 Tools Trace n Create Quilt Template Carefree Curves Collection The fusible interfacing is the key to the construction of this design. Don t choose a heavy fusible interfacing, light is best! This quilt was made using Pellon s Sof-Shape. There are three templates in this collection, the 1/4-Circle & Circle Template will be used for this project. Cut two 18½" wide crosswise strips. - Subcut from one strip one 18½" block and two rectangles. - Subcut from second strip one rectangle and one 11½" block. Fabrics Select eight fabrics in various shades of light, medium, and dark. If you d like to personalize or change the color scheme, make certain to follow the standard rule of thumb for quilting and choose light, medium, and dark shades. The featured 100% cotton fabrics are from Riley Blake Designs. 5 Fusible Interfacing Cut a 11½" lengthwise strip from 3¼ yards of interfacing. - Subcut into nine 11½" blocks. Cut a 6½" lengthwise strip. - Subcut into 17, 6½" blocks. Create the Circles or Spots Stitch Set machine for a straight stitch, 2.0 stitch length. Stitch directly on traced line. Separate out the 11½" and 6½" fabric blocks. Whenever stitching curves, I like to use a shorter stitch length, which provides a smoother finished curve. Trace Layer same-sized interfacing and fabric blocks, right sides together. Placing smooth side of interfacing to right side of fabric. Pin. Trim away excess fabric. For best results, use a pinking rotary cutter blade. Place circle template on each block set. Trace the 11" circle on the 11½" blocks and the 6" circles on the 6½" blocks. Use a fine-point fabric-marking pen. 5

Lightly press folds. Save the trimmed interior section of the interfacing to use when creating smaller circles. Turn interfacing to wrong side. Press curved edge, making certain seam is along the edge. Unfold fabrics. Center the small circles on the 9½" blocks and the large circles on the 18½" blocks, matching pressmarks; pin. Pair the circles to blocks as per the illustrated Circle Layout Guide on page 8. 6

Separate out the following 13, rectangles: - Three off-white rectangles - One pale-aqua rectangle - Two pale-green rectangles - One lime-green rectangle - Two dusty-aqua rectangles - One navy

Measure down 1-3/4" from one end of each rectangle. Align pressmarks of circles with vertical pressmarks on rectangle. Pin. Pair the circles to rectangles as per the illustrated color guide.

7 Separate out the following 13, rectangles: - Three off-white rectangles - One pale-aqua rectangle - Two pale-green rectangles - One lime-green rectangle - Two dusty-aqua rectangles - One navy rectangle - One purple rectangle - Two dark-olive rectangles Fold each rectangle in half, meeting long edges. Lightly press the fold. Unfold the fabric. Measure down 1-3/4" from one end of each rectangle. Align pressmarks of circles with vertical pressmarks on rectangle. Pin. Pair the circles to rectangles as per the illustrated color guide. Stitch circles to fabric. Assemble and Finish Quilt Follow illustrated Quilt Assembly Guide on pages 9-11 to assemble and stitch blocks and squares. Stitch together, using 1/4" seam allowances. Layer quilt top, batting, and backing. Quilt using your favorite quilting technique. Finish quilt with binding.
