1 Color Pop ipad Case Skill Level: Beginner Make this stylish case to protect your ipad. This is a quick and easy project. Fabrics Needed Fabric Lining Materials Needed Pellon SF-101Shape-Flex Pellon 987F Fusible Fleece Velcro Thread 1 fat quarter each of three coordinating fabrics 1 fat quarter 2 yards 1 yard One 4 strip Tools Needed Sewing machine and related supplies Rotary cutter and related supplies

Instructions Use 1/4 seam allowances throughout. Step 1.

10-½ strip each Two 9 x 11 rectangles One 5 x 10-½ rectangle Four 9 x 11 rectangles Two 5 x 10-½ rectangles Two 9 x

Arrange the 2 x 11 rectangles of coordinating fabrics into two sets of six each as desired.

Cutting Instructions Three coordinating fabrics Lining Shape-Flex Fusible Fleece Twelve 2 x 11 strips total One 2 x 10-½ strip each Two 9 x 11 rectangles One 5 x 10-½ rectangle Four 9 x 11 rectangles Two 5 x 10-½ rectangles Two 9 x 11 rectangles One 5 x 10-½ rectangle Step 2. Arrange the 2 x 11 rectangles of coordinating fabrics into two sets of six each as desired. Sew the rectangles together along the 11 side to create two 9-½ x 11 rectangles for the case exterior. Arrange three 2 x 10-½ rectangles of coordinating fabrics as desired and sew together to create the flap exterior. Step 3. Press all seams open. Color Pop ipad Case Page 2

Step 4. Place the fusible side of one 9 x 11 Shape-Flex rectangle against the wrong side of one pieced exterior rectangle and fuse following manufacturer s instructions.

3 Step 4. Place the fusible side of one 9 x 11 Shape-Flex rectangle against the wrong side of one pieced exterior rectangle and fuse following manufacturer s instructions. Repeat this step with the Fusible Fleece. There will be excess fabric along one side. Step 5. Trim rectangle to equal 9 x 11. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for second pieced rectangle. Quilt rectangles as desired. Step 6. Place the fusible side of one 9 x 11 Shape-Flex rectangle against the wrong side of one 9 x 11 case lining rectangle and fuse following manufacturer s instructions. Repeat this step for the second case lining. Step 7. Place the fusible side of one 5 x 10-½ Shape-Flex rectangle against the wrong side of the flap exterior and fuse following manufacturer s instructions. Repeat this step with the Fusible Fleece. Quilt flap as desired. Step 8. Place the fusible side of the remaining 5 x 10-½ Shape-Flex rectangle against the wrong side of the flap lining and fuse following manufacturer s instructions. Cut along the drawn line. Repeat Steps 9 through 11 for flap lining.

4 Step 9. On each corner of one long end of the flap exterior, measure 2 in and 2 down and mark both. Step 10. Draw a line connecting the two marks. Step 11. Cut along the drawn line. Repeat Steps 9 through 11 for flap lining. Step 12. Center the hook side of the Velcro 1/2 in from the shortened bottom edge on the right side of the flap lining. Step 13. Center the loop side of the Velcro 3 from the top long edge on the right side of the front exterior rectangle.

Stitch around three sides, leaving the 10-½ side open. Clip corners. Step 15. Turn right side out. Push out corners. Press.

5 Step 13. Center the loop side of the Velcro 3 from the top long edge on the right side of the front exterior rectangle. Stitch with a zigzag stitch to secure. Step 14. Place the flap exterior and lining right sides together. Stitch around three sides, leaving the 10-½ side open. Clip corners. Step 15. Turn right side out. Push out corners. Press. Topstitch if desired. Step 16. Place the exterior rectangles right sides together. Stitch around three sides, leaving the long side with the Velcro open. Clip corners. Turn right side out. Push out corners. Press. Step 17. Place the lining rectangles right sides together. Stitch around three sides, leaving a 3 gap on one long end and other long end open. Clip corners. 6 Step 18. Place the case exterior inside the case lining with right sides together, aliging the corners. Slip the flap in between the exterior and the lining on the side opposite the side with the Velcro. Pin around entire top opening and sew. Step 19. Turn case right side out through the opening in the lining. Sew the opening closed and push lining into case. Topstitch around opening if desired. Color Pop ipad Case Page 6
