2 I made this pattern in worsted weight yarn and a 2.5 mm hook, resulting in an amigurumi that is approximately 10 cm high, but it can be worked in other yarns too. Just make sure the hook matches the yarn. This pattern is worked in the round. Abbreviations used: sc = single crochet inc = increase, meaning sc 2 in one stitch. dec = decrease, meaning sc two stitches together, making one new stitch. * * = instructions within two stars are repeated to the end of that round. Supplies needed: Yarn in a color and thickness of your choice Crochet hook that results in a nice, snug fabric with the yarn you have chosen Safety eyes in color and size of your choice (I used 12 mm eyes on mine) Tapestry needle, to weave in ends Polyester filling Weights for the legs/feet (optional, but it helps Little Dusty to stand up properly) Leg, starting with bottom of foot (make two of these) 1. Make 7 sc in a magic loop (7) 2. inc in every stitch (14) 3. sc in back loop of each stitch, to turn up into the leg. (14) 4. (You are now crocheting up the leg) sc 4, dec, sc 2, dec, sc 4. (12) 5. sc in each stitch (12) 6. sc 4, dec two times, sc 4 (10) 7. sc in each stitch (10) 8. sc 4, dec, sc 4 (9) On the first leg, make a slip stitch in the next stitch, put a marker or a piece of scrap yarn in the last sc of the round, cut the yarn, weave in the end and put the leg aside. Make another leg. After finishing rounds 1-8 of the second leg, pick up the first leg and crochet them together like this: Body 1. Continuing from second leg, sc in the last sc you made on the first leg, then sc in each remaining stitch of the first leg (that s 9 stitches), followed by each stitch of the second leg (make sure you start in the right one, so you have 9 stitches on this leg, too). You have now

3 joined the two legs into a single circle. (18) 2. *sc 2, inc* (24) 3. *sc 3, inc* (30) -- Stop here to stuff the legs. To help Little Dusty stand, put some weighted filling in the bottom of the legs. I used something as simple as small, smooth pebbles that are supposed to be for decorating your home, but plastic beads, silica gel or other weights would work perfectly fine too sc in each stitch for a total of 8 rounds. (30) 12. *sc 8, dec* (27) 13. *sc 7, dec* (24) 14. *sc 6, dec* (21) 15. *sc 5, dec* (18) -- Stop here to stuff the body and add safety eyes. I put Little Dusty s eyes between rounds 10 and 11, with six stitches between them. 16. *sc 4, dec* (15) 17. *sc 3, dec* (12) 18. *sc 2, dec* (9) 19. *sc 1, dec* (6) Make a slip stitch in the next stitch, put the last bit of stuffing into your Dusty, and cut the yarn, leaving a long enough tail to close the top and fasten the end. I prefer to close the top by putting my yarn on a tapestry needle, putting it through the front loop of each of the six last stitches, and pulling tightly. The result will be close to invisible. When crocheting the legs together to the body, there might become a small hole between the legs. To prevent any filling from coming out, sew this up with a few stitches back and forth. Hair Cut 6 pieces of yarn, approximately 12 cm long. Take 3 of the yarn pieces, fold them in half, and with your crochet hook, pull them through the very top of Dusty s head to form a loop and loose ends on the other side, as shown in the picture below.

4 Pull the ends of the yarn through the loop with your hook. When all yarn ends are through the loop, pull tightly. Repeat with the remaining three pieces of yarn. Little Dusty is finished and ready to go out into the world!
