2 Heather Zoppetti This tunic-length vest begins at the lower edge with graceful leaves, which climb toward the front collar and transition into a lace mesh. The waist shaping follows the shaping of the leaf motif for a seamless fit. Finished Size 331 (373,, 1, 501 )" (5 [9,.5, 1.5] cm) bust circumference, buttoned. Vest shown measures 331 " (5 cm). Yarn Classic Elite Soft Linen (30% baby alpaca, 35% wool, 35% linen; 137 yd [15 m]/50 g): #0 thistle, (7,, 9, ) balls. Needles U.S. size 5 (3.75 mm): 1" (0 cm) and 3" (0 cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Notions Marker (m); stitch holders; tapestry needle; six 1 " (1.3 cm) buttons. Gauge 1 sts and 3 rows = " ( cm) in patt st. -stitch repeat of Chart A = 1 " (11 cm) wide, blocked. Notes This vest is worked from the bottom up in one piece to the armholes, then the fronts and back are divided and worked separately. Chart H is charted for the entire width of the garment. However, your place in the chart will vary based on the shaping. While shaping the armholes and neckline, be sure to maintain proper stitch count by pairing each yarnover with its decrease. If this is not possible because of the current stitch count, work knit or purl stitches as appropriate instead. Insert a third needle into the first stitch on each of the two needles (Figure 1) and knit them together as one stitch (Figure ), *knit the next stitch on each needle the same way, then use one of the left needle tips to lift the first stitch over the second and off the needle (Figure 3). Repeat from * until no stitches remain on the first two needles. Cut yarn and pull tail through the last stitch to secure.
