3 SETonic Microsyrges L-MARK Syrges The L-MARK Syrge has been developed as a complete le of syrges that mitigate many of the problems associated with traditional syrge products. This dustry leadg syrge technology was the first of its kd designed with a plunger guide to mata optimal plunger alignment to lengthen the plunger life to match the demands of high throughput labs. The L-MARK Syrge is offered with a choice of either a polyethylene or a PTFE plunger tip. L-MARK plungers are manufactured with titanium for added longevity. In addition, the needle settg which is welded to a ferrule embedded the syrge barrel is protected by a PTFE barrier for reduced exposure of adhesive to the samples drawn up by the syrge. Our design goal was to develop a syrge that creased the lifetime performance of syrges up to 10 times longer than standard syrges while significantly reducg or elimatg carryover. We believe the L-Mark Syrge product le has accomplished just that. L-MARK GOLD The L-MARK GOLD is manufactured with the same precise requirements as the standard L-MARK and cludes a chemically ert coated needle.in many laboratories this syrge achieved the lowest carry-over results compared to any syrge on the market. The syrge matas all the performance results of the standard or non-coated needle L-MARK with the best carry-over performance. L-MARK products are stocked and ready to ship the same day. 22 SETonic Tech Tip: General Use Instruction Remove the cleang wire from the needle before usg it for the first time. The smallest volume to be dosed should not be less than 15% of the total volume. Check the syrge for cracks and the tip of the needle for damage, e.g. ridge, this leads to an jury of the septum. These particles can clog the needle or reach your chromatograph or column and lead to correct results. To avoid sample carryover, rse the syrges times with your solvent, and do not forget to discard the first 2-3 rses. To remove air bubbles, aspirate the sample and dispense it quickly, while leavg the tip of the needle the liquid. You can also hold the syrge up, so that the air bubble rises and then dispense some of the sample. Use the syrge at room temperature (23 C). After delivery, allow the syrges to adapt 24h to your room temperature. Use standard syrges only between room temperature (23 C) and max. 40 C. The humidity of the workg environment should not exceed 40%. Do not use your syrges and connected equipment directly under air conditioners. PEEK Tubg Connector Syrges Place the supplied PTFE Washer (sealg disc) on the bottom of the ner thread. Tighten the fittg hand-tight. If the connection is still leakg, gently pull. SETonic GmbH offer you a wide range of fittgs and the matchg tools. Temperature Range and Autoclavg Syrges (Headspace application) The temperature range for our Headspace syrges is -40 C to 150 C. Exposure to high temperature should be limited as follows: 150 C for 15 mutes 120 C for 30 mutes 110 C for 60 mutes If extra high temperatures are required, we will provide special-order syrges with glue that is compatible up to 225 C contuous or 325 C termittent. All syrges can be autoclaved except fixed needle syrges, because the fixed needles are permanently glued to the glass barrel, these syrges will crack due to thermal expansion when autoclaved. For all other syrges simply remove the plunger and the removable needle (if applicable) before autoclavg. Cleang Instructions Remove the piston from the syrge and clean it the ultrasonic bath. Rse the glass body side with solvent. At the end of the cleang process it is best to add a solvent with a low boilg pot (e.g., alcohol). Dry the glass body an air stream, e.g. with a vacuum pump. Clogged Needle Caution: Do not immerse the entire glass body solvent. The glued parts can peel off. In the case of a clocked needle, the pressure crease rapitly. Use cleang wires. All syrges are delivered with a cleang wire side the needle. Syrge with sealed plunger To reduce the operatg force, heat the complete syrge the oven at about 60 C for 15 mutes. Silicone or other lubricants that do not terfere with your examation also reduce the force of the actuator. Caution: If possible, do not move the piston a dry syrge, the seal may be damaged and the syrge will leak. The seal may also tear apart. Syrge with Staless Steel Plunger Clean the plunger an ultrasonic bath. Wipe the plunger with a lt-free cloth or dry the flask the air stream. Zero Dead Volume Syrges Disconnect the couplg before removg the parts from the syrge. Clean the plunger and wipe it with a lt-free cloth. 20
