2 BRIEF INTRODUCTION Surgical instruments are the essential tools that are designed for enabling access, viewing the internal organs and to perform surgical procedures. Specialized instruments are being developed to enable minimally invasive surgical procedures and to perform never before performed surgeries, and 3D printing perfectly helps in this case. Alternatively, depending on the purpose, requirements are gathered and studied. Accurate 3D virtual model of the required instrument or equipment is designed. Trials are performed on 3D printed models using the new instrument. Changes in design can instantaneously be 3d printed for rapid prototyping. Once the design is finalized, the instrument can be 3D printed. The final 3D printed instrument or equipment is used in the surgery.
