1 July 24th, 2007 John Schorman, Cindy and Dan McNally Gary Oswald, Tony Martinez, George Benavides, Cindy Head The CACIAAO meeting held January 23 rd, 2007 at the Arizona Center was well attended, informative, and enjoyed by all. In attendance, among others, was Keith Russell (Maricopa County Assessor), Joe Wehrle (Yuma County Assessor), Bob Gloudemans (Modeling Consultant), Seth Franzman, Ed Leyba (D.O.R. Assessment Administrator), and Eddie Tantoco of Starwood Hotels and Resorts). Don Oswald, a representative of the Greater Phoenix Convention Center Bureau spoke about the impact of the bid for the International IAAO Conference in He estimated an economic benefit to Phoenix of $2 million. He highlighted the facilities and services Phoenix has to offer and suggested the new Downtown Sheraton and other downtown buildings as possible hosting sites. Steve Spivak, a Starwood representative, detailed the amenities of the new $350 million Downtown Sheraton. He pointed out further changes in the downtown area and predicted how the downtown landscape would change by then. Steve also made the case for the new Sheraton to be the host for the 2011 IAAO International Conference and cited that the new 31 story Sheraton will have over 1,000 rooms and be the biggest hotel in Arizona. 3 Meet the New CACIAAO Candidates: Tim joined Maricopa County Assessor Keith Russell s Administration in July of He serves the elected assessor as the appointed leader for a professional staff of 365. Tim joined the Assessor s Office after 17 years with the State of Arizona. Mr. Boncoskey worked as a senior budget analyst for Fairfax County s OMB in Virginia for three years before beginning his Arizona state government career. Tim Boncoskey- Candidate for President He began his state service working for the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting for FY91 & FY92, also serving as the initial management staff in the Governor s Office for Excellence from 1993 to 1995, then was appointed Assistant Director for the Management Services Division in the Department of Administration (ADOA) holding various executive management positions in ADOA until he joined the County. Tim served three Governors in his seven years as the Chairperson of the Governor s Regulatory Review Council from 1996 to Mr. Boncoskey received his Bachelors degree in Public Administration from the University of Arizona and his Masters degree in Public Affairs in 1985 from the LBJ School at the University of Texas. His motto is "Action Conquers Fear". Tim is married to the former Lori Ann Meeks. Together they have four children (Michael, Scott, Sean and Caroline), three dogs (Vegas, Manny and Bella), two fish (Tailey and Scaley) and one Mother-in-law (Dora). Tim and Lori live in North Phoenix. Judith Bender- Candidate for Vice-President Judy began her career in public service approximately 14 years ago with the Yavapai County Assessor s office. After seven years she joined the Arizona DOR Property Tax Division. Eventually, job opportunities returned her to the cool climate of Prescott where she re-joined the Assessor s staff for several years prior to joining Maricopa County this past March. Judy has served in many positions at the Assessor and State level including; clerical, administrative, computer assisted mass appraisal, supervisory, managerial and IT project positions. During her tenure at the Department of Revenue, Judy was attached to the Central Information Services Unit servicing the computer system, assessment administration, tax billing and data processing needs of twelve of the fifteen County Assessor and Treasurer Office s across the State of Arizona. During her off time, Judy enjoys a love of the outdoors camping, hiking and paddling, rooting for the Denver Broncos in addition to traveling in the United States and abroad. Judy has been a member of the local chapter of IAAO for approximately 5 years and looks forward to working to bring the national IAAO conference to Phoenix in 2011.

4 Meet the New CACIAAO Candidates: (cont d) Sandie Savage- Candidate for Treasurer I grew up in Sierra Vista Arizona, and my background is in real estate investing and General Commercial Contracting in the private sector (Phx.). I've been with the MC Assessor's Office for three years as a Property Appraiser, first in the Mesa office and now in the CAMA department downtown. Being a Navy brat, my hobbies include anything that involves water or the ocean (especially boating, skiing & fishing!), I love baseball, the fine arts, live music and great dining spots. I am also an entertainer on the weekends (singing). I have managed the books for several non-profit organizations as well as my own business, so I'm honored and eager to run for the position of Treasurer as Lynn steps down from her duties. My fiancé (in the photo) isn't running for office, but he's just too darn cute to crop out of the picture! Jeffrey Law-Candidate for Board Member I have been at the Assessor's office since Feb 6, I started downtown with the land department and verifying sales for CAMA. I then transferred to the Glendale office and am a commercial appraiser. I have my certification for level one and have passed all the courses for level two, just waiting for the certification. Prior to this I owned and operated 2 Samurai Sam's Teriyaki Grill Restaurants for about 4 years. Prior to that I was a Certified Residential Appraiser. I am married, 2 dogs who are my kids. I like to offroad in my Jeep, play golf, and travel. Originally from California, I have been here for over 10 years.
