3 CCEA Approves Continuation of Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme For Education Loans स स ईए श क ष ऋण क श ए क र श ट ग र ट फ स क म क श र तरत क म ज र द त ह

4 Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the continuation of the Credit Guarantee Fund for Education Loans Scheme and continuation and modification of Central Sector Interest Subsidy Scheme with a financial outlay of 6,600 crore rupees from to The scheme will cover loans for pursuing professional and technical courses to promote quality education. CCEA also approved a proposal to formulate an Integrated Scheme on school education by subsuming Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan and Teacher Education from 1st April 2018 to 31st March An estimated allocation of 75,000 crore rupees has been approved for this which is a 20 percent increase over the current allocations.

5 Harsimrat Kaur Badal Inaugurates Rajasthan's First Mega Food Park In Ajmer हरशसमरत क र ब द अजम र क र प गढ ग व म र जस थ क पह म ग फ प क क उद घ ट कर ग

6 In Rajasthan, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal has inaugurated the first mega food park of the state at Roopangarh village near Ajmer. The Food Park is set up at an investment of Rs crore and will benefit around 25 thousand farmers in Ajmer and neighbouring districts. Center has given the 50 crore rupees subsidy for this project. The mega food park would attract an additional investment of about Rs. 250 crore in about 30 food processing units in the park and to a turnover of about 500 crore rupees per annum.

8 Niti Aayog Launches Baseline Ranking Of 115 Aspirational Districts शत आय ग 115 महत वक क ष शज क श ए ब स इ र शक ग ज र क

9 The NITI Aayog has launched the baseline ranking for 115 aspirational districts based on 49 indicators across five sectors that include health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development, and basic infrastructure. This would be followed by delta ranking of these districts from May 2018 based on their incremental progress.

11 EPFO has launched the pensioner s portal through which all EPFO pensioners may get the details of pension-related information. The pensioner s portal is a recently launched service where details like pension payment order number, payment order details, passbook information and other related information are available. The enhanced Track ekyc facility for the convenience of members have also been launched to check the status of Aadhaar seeded against their UAN. The facility has been made available at EPFO s website

15 Agreement on Assumption Island Project in Seychelles was signed in 2015 during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi s visit to Seychelles. However, owing to opposition, a revised agreement, including several amendments was prepared in January Now the opposition is not ready to ratify it as in past few months there has been public protests in Seychelles against this projects based on fear that India would appropriate the Assumption Island.

19 The RBI has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs crore on ICICI Bank Limited for non-compliance with the directions issued by the RBI on direct sale of securities from its Held To Maturity (HTM) portfolio and specified disclosure in this regard. The Central Bank stated this penalty has been imposed in the exercise of powers vested with the RBI under the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, taking into account failure of the bank to adhere to its directions/guidelines.

23 Justice Jawad Rahim acting chairperson of NGT: Justice Jawad Rahim is a judicial member of National Green Tribunal (NGT). He will perform his duties as acting chairperson of NGT until a regular appointment is made. He will also participate in the selection process of other members of the NGT. However, it has been made clear that his appointment is an interim arrangement and a regular appointment will be made soon for the post of the Chairman of NGT.

26 Rahul Dravid state election icon for Karnataka Assembly polls: Sanjiv Kumar said that, disabled government employees will be appointed as polling staff in selected polling stations for the first time. He added that, 450 all-women polling stations will be set up. The Election Commission of India has announced a single phase poll for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on 12 May The Karnataka Legislative Assembly comprises 224 members. Votes will be counted on 15 May 2018.

29 India Successfully Launches GSAT-6A Communication Satellite भ रत सफ त प वकक ज एसएट -6 ए कम श क स ट इट क भ र भ शकय

30 ISRO successfully launched the GSLV-F08 carrying the GSAT6A communication satellite from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Today's launch adds another feather in ISRO's cap as it is mastering the technique of making home-made communication satellites. The GSAT-6A satellite will be put into orbit around 17 minutes after the rocket's liftoff. GSLV Mk II (F08) carrying GSAT-6A took off from the second launch pad in Sriharikota. Today's launch marked its 12th flight of Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle GSLV- F08 and sixth flight with the indigenous Cryogenic upper stage.

34 Gallantry Awards presented by President of India: President Kovind presented three Kirti Chakra, 17 Shaurya Chakra, 14 Param Vishisht Seva Medals (PVSM), one Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM) and 22 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals (AVSM). These awards were announced on the eve of Republic Day. Kirti Chakra is the second highest peacetime gallantry award (After Ashok Chakra), presented for valour, courageous action or self-sacrifice away from the field of battle.

35 Kirti Chakra was presented to CRPF Commandant Chetan Cheetah and Major Vijayant Bist of the 4th Battalion of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry. Major David Manlun of the 164 Infantry Battalion of the Naga Regiment was honoured posthumously with the Kirti Chakra. Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were also present at the occasion.

37 Two Indian activists shortlisted for Commonwealth Youth Awards 2018: Mirnalini Dayal and Yogesh Kumar have been selected from across 53 Commonwealth member-countries. Mirnalini Dayal has been chosen for her work as a campaign leader for Health Over Stigma. Yogesh Kumar has been shortlisted for establishing the social enterprise Even Cargo. Both the finalists are based in Delhi. They were selected for their work towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 5 on gender equality.

38 The Commonwealth Youth Awards 2018 recognises people from 15 to 29 years of age whose work had a remarkable impact on their communities. All finalists will be granted 1,000 pounds to continue their development work along with a trophy and certificate. The Regional Young Persons of the Year will be granted 3,000 pounds, and the Commonwealth Young Person of the Year will receive 5,000 pounds. Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) will be held in April 2018 in London.
