4 The Mangalore International Airport has been adjudged the cleanest airport in the country. Airport director VV Rao received the award during the 23rd annual day celebrations of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in New Delhi. In the survey conducted across 53 airports in the country by AAI, Mangaluru airport was adjudged the cleanest.

7 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a km-long elevated road, touted to be the longest of its kind in the country, connecting UP Gate and Rajnagar Extension, Ghaziabad. Built at a cost of Rs1,147 crore, the six-lane elevated road is supported on 227 pillars. The road will make it easier to commute between Delhi and Ghaziabad. Apart from this, it will also be easy for commuters to reach National Highway (NH) 58 from NH 24.

9 R K Singh, Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable Energy, laid the foundation stone of the 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project (NMHEP) along with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat in Uttarkashi. The Proposed NMHEP is located on the river Tons a tributary of the Yamuna, in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This run-of-the river project was allocated to SJVN Ltd by the Government of Uttarakhand. SJVN Ltd is a Mini Ratna PSU under administrative control of the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.

10 Technical details of the Project: NMHEP envisages construction of m high barrage located at d/s of the confluence of Rupin and Tons rivers at village Naitwar, 4.33 km long Head Race Tunnel having 5.6 m dia., m deep surge shaft with a dai of 18 m. The project utilizes a net head of m. to generate MU in a 90 per cent dependable year.

12 Asia's largest startup ecosystem congregation, Huddle Kerala, will be held at Kovalam. The initiative is envisaged to provide a platform for start-ups to pitch their products and interact with a wide array of technology and industry leaders from around the world. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the conclave, being organised by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in association with Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and IAMAI Startup Foundation.

16 SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India) celebrated its foundation day (2nd April 1990) as the day of Sampark (connect), Sanwad (interaction), Suraksha (security) and Sampreshan (disseminate). Chairman Managing Director of SIDBI Mohammad Mustafa launched a series of initiatives from its Lucknow bank headquarters. An MoU was signed with The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. and two MSMEs were issued insurance policies. Chairman SIDBI also launched 'Samridhhi- the virtual assistant' on banks revamped universal loan portal During the day, a Bankability Kit (brought in partnership with Bank of Baroda and IDBI Bank) was also launched.

19 Debjani Ghosh Appointed New President Of Nasscom द ब जन घ ष, न सक म क नई अध यक ष दनय

20 Debjani Ghosh, former managing director of Intel South Asia, is the new president of Nasscom. She has replaced R.Chandrashekhar upon completion of his term. A big propagator of gender diversity and equal representation in corporate India, Ms Ghosh was the first woman to lead Intel India and MAIT (Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology).

23 Ajit Singh appointed as head of BCCI s Anti Corruption Unit: Ajit Singh will replace former Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar, who has been assigned advisory role in the ACU till May 31, Mr. Singh has served in Indian Police Service (IPS) for 36 years. He is experienced in anti-corruption operations, investigative work and field policing. He has also been the head of Rajasthan s anticorruption bureau. Mr. Singh s appointment has been made just ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL), scheduled to commence from April 7, 2018.

25 Long-serving American diplomat Rosemary DiCarlo was appointed to become the first woman to head UN political affairs, one of the most highprofile positions at the world body. DiCarlo will replace Jeffrey Feltman,another American who held the post of under-secretary-general for political affairs since DiCarlo also served as deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs and director for United Nations affairs at the national security council in Washington.

29 About Tiangong-1 space lab: Launched in September 2011, Tiangong-1, represented China s goal to establish a permanent space station However, in 2017, China informed United Nations that Tiangong-1 had ceased functioning in March Thus China launched Tiangong-2 space lab in September 2016, which was successfully put into orbit post launch. Currently, Tiangong-1 is orbiting the Earth at a height of kilometres. Scientists are not sure as to where Tiangong-1 would come down on Earth, but it is likely to burn up in the atmosphere during its re-entry and would thus not pose any risk.
