6 Name:- Class:- IX Biology Activity : SCIENCE HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENT AIM- To make a model of Microscope MATERIALS REQUIRED White or Black chart paper, 1/2 Thermocol (thin sheet), 1/2 Thermocol (thick sheet), Black paint, Compass, Pencil, Thermocol cutting knife PROCEDURE 1. Cut three different pieces from chart paper having dimensions 2 x 2 cm2.now role the paper to form a pipe like structure and paste them.(always roll the paper by long side) 2. Cut four different circles of radius 2, 1.5, 1 and 0.5 cm from thin sheet of thermocol. 3. Take the circle of 1.5 cm radius and paste all the three pipe like structure(step I) on it (Facing towards outside) at equal distance. 4. Cut two more pieces from chart paper with dimensions 3 x4 and 5 x 6 ( all dimensions are in cm) Role them and again paste to make pipe like structure. 5. Close one end of bigger pipe and paste second pipe over it. 6. Cut a piece of thermocol (from thick sheet) in G shape about 18 cm in length, wider at both ends.

7 7. Paste structure 3 at the wide end of structure Cut the rectangle with dimensions 6 x 6 (in cm) and make hole at the centre of the rectangle. 9. Paste 7 and 8 with structure 6.

8 10. Cut another piece in Y shape from thick sheet of thermocol. 11. Stick structure 9 over it. 12. Cut a small c shape from thick sheet and paste circle of radius 2 cm ( step II) over it. 13. Paste the structure at the shaft of G structure. 14. Paste circle of a radius 1 cm and 0.5 cm at wider upper area of G. 15. Paint the complete structure black (leaving all circles). 16. Here is your model of MICROSCOPE ready.
