He is an STLE Fellow since 2013 & since 2017 an independent consultant Thickeners Constantin Madius (Axel Christiernsson) Constantin Madius, a BSc Chemical Engineering graduate of the University College in Borås, Sweden, has worked with Axel Christiernsson in Europe since 1998 and as of 2013 he is the Commercial Product Manager for Axel Americas LLC. He has also been responsible for customer training courses and lubrication seminars resulting in the exclusive Grease Genius programme offered to Axel customers. He has lectured on these topics at universities and postgraduate education institutes within the Nordic countries and is a co-author of the book Grease Fundamentals.

In 1982, Mr. Anderson joined Keil Chemical Division of Ferro Corporation and worked in product development and technical support until In 1984, he joined Falex Corporation as Manager Technical Services. He has held positions as Marketing Manager, Vice President in charge of Marketing, Vice President in charge of Testing Services and is currently Area Manager for Falex products in Asia Pacific and Latin America. He also serves Falex Corporation as the company Tribologist. Mr. Anderson is a STLE Certified Lubrication Specialist. He is a member of the following technical associations: SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers); NLGI (National Lubricating Grease Institute) ASTM International, Serving on Committee D02 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants and Committee G02 on Friction and Wear. He is an officer in Subcommittee L on Industrial Lubricants and is chairman of the working groups related to Tribology testing of greases and fluid lubricants. The range of Molykote Specialty Lubricants includes Greases, Pastes and Anti-Friction Coatings for demanding applications in Automotive and Industrial markets. Alexandra joined Dow in 2008 as part of Commercial Development Program. During her early career she was in technical service and application engineer roles for silicone products for Construction, Performance Chemicals and Coatings markets working with Russia & CIS Regions. In 2012 she joined the Molykote lubricants organization as a Technical Service & Development Specialist supporting channel partners and key customers covering European countries. Alexandra holds a Master s degree in Organic Chemistry from Moscow State University Compliance Andreas Dodos (Eldon s) Andreas Dodos received a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Technology from the University of Manchester, UK. He has spent the last 18 years at Eldon's SA, with duties mainly focused on industrial and marine lubricants development and technical support. Since 2007 he has been actively involved in product stewardship with focus on global regulatory developments. He is an active member in a number of professional bodies such as the ELGI, the Hellenic Maintenance Society and National Tribology Centre. Since 2007 he has been involved with the European REACH Grease Thickener Consortium (ERGTC) and since 2010 he has been the Chairman of the group that numbers more than 40 Members. He is currently serving on the ELGI Board of Directors and is co-chairing the Food Lubricants Working Group. Graduated as marine engineer he spend a number of year travelling the global seas. Andre now has more than 35 years of experience in the lubricant industry working for Castrol, Petro-Canada and Anderol in many countries. As Chairman of the H1 Global Food Lubricants Workgroup under the ELGI (as well as board member of the ELGI) as member of CONCAWE-MOCRINIS work group he continues to promote the interests of the lubricant industry in the food segment. Recently Andre has given papers at the CONCAWE-MOCRINIS, UEIL, ELGI and ICIS conferences and published a number of papers in leading industry magazines

6 STLE-ELGI Tribology Training Course 8 th November 2018 Tribology Introduction and Basics Prof. Benyebka Bou-Said (LaMCoS INSA De Lyon, France) Benyebka Bou-Saïd studied mechanical engineering and tribology at INSA de Lyon (France) (MSc. 1981, PhD. 1985, HDR 1993). He worked from 1985 to 2014 at INSA de Lyon as Associate Professor then Professor until now. Benyebka Bou-Said is researcher at LaMCoS in a variety of subjects concerned with both fundamental and applied tribology, including hydrodynamics, fluidstructure interaction, rheology, tribochemistry and biomechanics (joint and vascular diseases). Pr. Bou-Saïd is the head of a research group involved in Tribology. He is the supervisor of more than 40 PhD thesis and 80 Research Master. He has authored more than 100 papers in the field. Pr Bou-Saïd is Fellow ASME and STLE, guest editor for the Journal of Engineering Tribology (JET) and Tribology International and associate editor for Tribology Transactions and JET. He is chairman of the annual Leeds-Lyon International Tribology Conference. Mechanical engineering with the relevant moving machine elements Dr. Piet Lugt (SKF Engineering & Research Centre B.V., The Netherlands) Piet is the Senior Scientist at SKF Research and Technology Development and Full Professor Tribology-based Maintenance at the University of Twente. He studied mechanical engineering and tribology at the University of Twente in The Netherlands (MSc. 1988, PhD. 1992). He worked at the Technical University of Delft in Chemistry and Vehicle Dynamics until 1995 when he joined SKF Research where he has fulfilled several positions in Tribology and Lubrication, presently as a Senior Scientist. He has been a part-time Professor at Luleå Technical University, Sweden, from and has a (part-time) chair at the University of Twente in Tribology-Based Maintenance since Piet has written the book Grease Lubrication in Rolling Bearings.

(Ph.D.) and Priv.-Doz. (Private Lecturer) degrees in materials science and engineering from the same university in summer of 1984 and in fall of 1992, respectively. From 1992 to 1996 he was head of quality management as well as vice-head of the centre of analyses and testing of a company providing laser processing technologies, materials testing, and failure analyses. Since 1996 he is full professor for materials science and engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany ( and since 2005 visiting professor at Rush University Medical Center, Dpt. of Orthopedic Surgery, Chicago IL, USA. The current research work focuses on fatigue, wear and corrosion of metals. His research areas are in mechanical, production, automotive, tooling and biomedical engineering. He has published more than 230 reviewed papers and co-authored 5 books.
