2 About the presentation: This hour long program with have Diane Smith moderating a discussion with Kevin Rennie from the Right side and Colin McEnroe from the Left side to provide a free flowing discussion of the national state of politics, political campaigns and the upcoming presidential election with an emphasis on the anticipate effects of the election on the state of Connecticut budget, politics and businesses. In short, we will listen in on their conversation about these issues. About the speakers: Colin McEnroe Colin McEnroe hosts the daily WNPR show, The Colin McEnroe Show. He is a weekly columnist and blogger for The Hartford Courant. He has been a contributing editor at many national publications including Mirabella, Men s Health, Mademoiselle and Best Life. He has recently concluded a series of columns for Bicycling magazine and contributes to Salon. His humor writing is included in several anthologies including The McSweeney s Joke Book of Jokes, The Big Book of New American Humor and Flash Fiction Funny. He is the author of three books a memoir and two collections of his humor published by Doubleday -- and one play produced at Ivoryton; and his work has appeared on the New York Times Op-Ed Page and in Cosmopolitan and Forbes FYI. He frequently moderates the Connecticut Forum and teaches media studies at Trinity College. Kevin Rennie Kevin Rennie writes a political column for the Sunday edition of The Hartford Courant. He also writes a column for InsideSources.com [insidesources.com], a Washington, D.C. news service that provides content for newspapers around the country. This year Kevin has been contributing book reviews to The Wall Street Journal. He practices law in South Windsor and served in the Connecticut legislature from Writing a column about politics has caused him to have many fewer friends than he did while in politics.

3 Diane Smith A New York Times bestselling author, Emmy award winning journalist, documentary producer, and speaker Diane Smith is a media veteran. Diane s book Obsessed: America s Food Addiction and My Own; written with MSNBC Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski became an instant best seller. Diane has been on the air in Connecticut for more than 25 years at WTNH-TV, CPTV, CT-N and WTIC-Newstalk Diane is the anchor and senior producer for program development at CTN, the Connecticut version of C-SPAN. As president of Diane Smith Media, Diane has produced Emmy award winning documentaries, and other programs and videos primarily for non-profits. Diane Smith Media also provides media and public speaking training for clients including Tiffany & Co., Subway and Protein Sciences Corporation. Diane serves on the board of the Connecticut Girl Scout Council and the Connecticut Women s Council. Diane was appointed by the CT Secretary of the State to the Civic Health Advisory Board. Diane is a corporator of the I-Quilt Project in Hartford and serves on the Board of Overseers for the Bushnell Theater in Hartford.
