1 SBS Members Zillur Siddiqui Name Position Credential Rahman Md. Shah Jamal President Vice President Mr. Zillur Rahman Siddiqui hails from Kishoregonj, Bangladesh. He obtained his Master of IT Management from University of Wollongong, Australia. Currently he is working in a US based MNC in Singapore as Senior IT Security Specialist. He is Ex-Honorary of SBS Management Committee and Ex- of SBS Advisory Committee. He is involved with local community services in Singapore like Resident Committee, of Community Lead Champion under People s Association (PA). Currently he is Vice Chairman of young PAP, East Zone, he is also Young PAP Network Ambassador. He is volunteering a number of Charity organizations, such as Red Cross, Children Cancer Foundation, Kidney Foundation etc. His main interest is reading, writing, jogging, swimming. He is an author of Information Technology and Beyond issue. Md. Shah Jamal, was born in Bogra, Bangladesh. He obtained his B.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka. He is working in Oil and Gas industry as Design Engineer. Dr. Mithun Kumar Saha Golam Mohammad Sarwar General Joint Dr. Mithun Kumar Saha was born in Khulna, Bangladesh. After graduation in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), he was engaged as Lecturer in Military Institute of Science & Technology (MIST), Bangladesh. He was awarded PhD in Civil Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS). Currently he is engaged as Senior Civil & Structural Engineer in Siemens Pte Ltd (Oil & Gas Division, Energy Sector). He is a Singapore Citizen. He is of Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB), Overseas Chapter of Institution of Engineers Bangladesh Singapore (OCIEBS), and Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES). He is interested in reading books, watching games. Mr. Golam Mohammad Sarwar, Marine Engineer, was born in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh. Studied Marine Engineering in Bangladesh Marine Academy and South Tyneside Marine and Technical College, U.K. He obtained his Marine Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency from UK and currently pursuing M.Sc (Maritime Studies) at NTU. Mr. Sarwar has a long sailing experience as Chief Engineer onboard different types of vessel in various International Shipping Companies. He joined the Merchantile Marine Academy, Juldia, Chittagong in the year of After successfully passed out in 1991, he started his career of sailing with the ship at sea. He worked with many renowned foreign shipping companies throughout his sea carrier. He completed his master mariner competency under SMA (Singapore maritime Academy), Singapore polytechnic and achieved his highest degree on Advanced Diploma in Maritime Transportation in the year of In his sea going career, he has commanded the foreign company fleets of merchant navy in the rank of Captain for many successful years and finally decided to join in the ship management at Singapore. Presently, he is working with a reputed Japanese owner company named as "Tokyo Marine", third largest chemical tanker fleet in the world, where he serves as a senior Marine superintendent for last 5 years. He has many hobbies such as friends gathering, chatting, debating on various issue, reading, sports, singing etc. Mr. Md Bassu Mia was born in Mohammadpur, Magura, Bangladesh. He obtained his B.Sc in Naval Architect and Marine Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in He is currently working as assistant project manager in Sembawang Shipyard Pte Ltd. He is interested in reading, Swimming and playing indoor & outdoor games. He is very good athlete and awarded a lot of medals during his study life in school, college and university. Mr. Md Akram Hossain was born in Narayangonj, Bangladesh. He obtained his Diploma in Marine Engineering from Bangladesh Institute of Marine Technology (BIMT) in He started his career in Keppel shipyard in Later he started his own business and owned AC Marine Engineering Services. He is now working with Singapore technology Marine Ltd as a Ship Repair Manager. He is interested in sports, Travelling, shopping and social job. He is a Social and Welfare secretary of DMEABS (Diploma Marine Engineers Association Bangladesh, Singapore). Zakaria Mohd. Amin s home town is Barisal, Bangladesh. He was born in Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is presently working as Project Officer at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as well as obtaining PhD in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS). His bachelor degree is from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). In NUS, Zakaria was leading Graduate Students Society (GSS) as President in year 2009/10, Treasurer in year 2008/09, Volunteer in year 2007/08. He was also involved in community service activities as being President of NUS SKMIG (Student Kindness Movement Interest Group). 3 Md Habibur Rahman Md Shafiquzzaman Mr. Md Habibur Rahman was born in Barguna, Bangladesh. At present he is working as Quality Assurance Superintendent in Keppel FELS Limited, Singapore.
