3 NATIONAL र ष ट For the first time, Indian Navy s Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft Boeing P- 8I (Poseidon Eight India) from Indian Naval Ship (INS) Rajali has inducted for participating in the 26th edition of RIMPAC-18, the Rim of the Pacific Multinational Naval exercise. During the exercise, IN P8I will be operating from Joint Airbase Hickam, Honolulu in Hawaii. This is the first time ever that an Indian Naval aircraft has traversed so far east into the Pacific.

4 NATIONAL र ष ट It is the first IN aircraft to cross the International Date Line, undertaking the longest ferry of nearly 3300 nm from Guam to Hawaii and the first IN aircraft to participate in RIMPAC. RIMPAC is the world s largest international maritime warfare exercise. It is hosted and administered by the United States Navy s Pacific Fleet, headquartered at Pearl Harbor.

7 NATIONAL र ष ट Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has given inprinciple approval for the 39-crore rupees Seema Darshan project for developing more infrastructure facilities from T-Junction to Zero Point at Nadabet near Suigam in Banaskantha district to instil patriotism through a unique Gujarat initiative for border tourism. The project being developed on Wagah Border pattern, entails an exhibition hall, a parade ground with an amphitheatre for 5,000 people.

The new Headquarters building is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including energy-efficient lighting and rainwater harvesting. The fortnightly contest which was launched through MyGov, will last till 4 th November Three winners will be chosen every fortnight.

17 NATIONAL र ष ट Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan inaugurated state-run power giant National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) 250 MW Solar Power Plant in Mandsaur. According to NTPC, this project has been set up mainly on non-agricultural land and generation of electricity has been achieved without affecting the natural eco-system with zero carbon emission at an investment of about Rs 1,500 crore. This is one of the biggest solar plant developed using domestically manufactured Solar cells and modules under the Make in India initiative.

20 NATIONAL र ष ट The Telecom Commission has approved the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (TRAI) net neutrality recommendations that bar service providers from discriminating against internet content and services by blocking, throttling or granting them higher speed access. The decision that aims to ensure open and free Internet in the country was taken at a meeting of the Commission, the highest decision-making body in the Department of Telecommunication in New Delhi.

21 WHAT IS NET NEUTRALITY? Net neutrality is a principle that requires the Internet service providers to treat all content on the Internet equally without favouring or withholding access to certain websites, services or apps or charging differently based on the user, content, website or platform. The rules aim to give consumers equal access to web content and prevent broadband providers from favouring their own content.

The Panel has a total of 20 members, representing a cross-section of expertise from Government, private industry, civil society, academia and the technical community. 33 AGREEMENT समझ त India and the United Kingdom signed an agreement on the exchange of experience by legal professionals and government functionaries for resolution of disputes before various courts and tribunals. The agreement was signed by Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and UK s Secretary of State for Justice David Gauke in London. The MoU sought to enhance bilateral cooperation in legal affairs which would provide a framework for promoting greater cooperation between the judicial and legal professionals in both countries through the exchange of expertise and training.

36 AGREEMENT समझ त An MoU was signed between the Indian Army and State Bank of India on the Defence Salary Package. The signing-in ceremony was chaired by the Director-General (MP&PS), Lt Gen SK Saini in Mumbai. The first MoU between SBI and the Indian Army was signed in 2011 and was renewed on 23 Feb This MoU will benefit a large number of serving and retired Army personnel who are having their accounts with SBI. The MoU will be valid till 03 Jan 2019 and continuation thereafter will be subject to review/renewal.

39 RANKING श र Reliance Industries Chairman and India's richest person Mukesh Ambani dethroned Chinese e- commerce company Alibaba's Co-founder Jack Ma to become Asia's richest person as RIL shares hit an all-time high. Ambani's net worth now stands at $44.3 billion as compared to Jack Ma's $44 billion wealth, according to Bloomberg. Ambani has added $4 billion to his wealth this year.

41 BUSINESS व य प Industrial production growth slipped to a sevenmonth low of 3.2% in May mainly due to sluggish performance of manufacturing and power sectors and other reasons, according to the data released by the Central Statistics Office. The manufacturing sector, which constitutes 77.63% of the index, grew by just 2.8% in May. The mining sector output recorded an impressive growth of 5.7% in May as against 0.3% in May The FMCG sector was the worst performer among the user based goods segment.

This move paved the way for more joint investment with Indian companies across the bank s regions of operation. India had applied for the membership in December The Board of Governors voted unanimously in favour of the country s application. The EBRD aims to promote the private and entrepreneurial initiative in emerging Europe and invests in 38 emerging economies.

46 BANKING ब क ग The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made it compulsory to incorporate purchaser s name on the face of payment instrumentalities like demand draft, pay order, banker s cheques and other instruments to prevent money laundering. It has been done in order to address the concerns arising out of the anonymity and to prevent money laundering. The RBI issued a notification in Mumbai to this effect to the banks. This directive will come into effect from 15th of September 2018.

49 BANKING ब क ग Airtel Payments Bank has received requisite approvals from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to begin taking new customers. Also, Aadhaarissuing authority UIDAI has allowed it to use the 12-digit unique identification number-based e- KYC. The development comes nearly seven months after Airtel, along with Airtel Payments Bank, came under fire for allegedly opening payments bank accounts of its mobile subscribers without their consent.

The women s team may be also included in the TOPS after reviewing its performance in the upcoming World Cup and following Asian Games.
