3 Tips for Self Tapes 1. Frame yourself (the talent) from head to toe. Start off with a brief introduction into camera: state your name, age, height, town and province. Tell us a little bit about yourself (max 45 seconds). 2. Now, zoom in so that you re framed from the top of the head to the mid chest area ONLY and keep that frame for the entire scene. There should be little to no space over the top of your head. Be sure that the lighting is bright. Make sure that the sound quality is clear. It is very important that we can clearly see and hear you. 3. For the READER- Stand beside the camera opposite the talent, and make sure the talent is using you, the reader, for their eye line and NOT looking into the camera. Make sure to use a nice clear voice, make it easy for the actor to respond to you. 4. Make sure to memorize the lines and feel free to tape the scene as many times as you'd like, but only send us one take, the BEST take. 5. If you have FACIAL HAIR, please be sure to SHAVE IT off before auditioning; we want you to look as young as possible! 6. Remember to look natural, just like yourself. Tell you that you're not the first thing I think about in the morning? Or the last thing I think about at night? (flustered) Okay, that's it. You need to go. This is my house. Then I need to go. Because this. You and me. Can't happen. Frankie and I broke up weeks ago.

Tyler stops her. Okay, but first, kiss me. You're kidding, right? You say you don't feel the same way about me. Prove it. (beat) On the count of ten, I'm going to kiss you. You can stop me any time. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Tyler kisses Rania and it's perfect. There's a long silent beat as the two savor the post-kiss moment. (CONT'D) So what about that answer to problem six? That's it? That's all you've got to say? (beat) Stop looking at me with those eyes. Tyler smiles at Rania, knowing he's won this battle.
