2 Fax: Online: Step 2: Measurements 2.1 Floor Plan (HORIZONTAL) Draw a rough floor plan of your kitchen like below on a separate piece of paper, and follow the steps below to measure your space. 1. Mark all walls as WALL A, WALL B, etc., then a. Measure the distance from corner to corner for each wall; 2. Mark locations of doors or openings, then a. Measure from adjacent corner to door center; b. Mark door swing direction if applicable; 3. Mark locations of windows, then measure a. From corner to window trim edge; b. From outside trim edge to outside trim edge; c. From trim edge to adjacent wall *Make sure WALL_A = 3A + 3B + 3C 4. Mark locations of water lines, drains, gas lines, hood vents, electric outlets and switches, wallmounted telephone, TV cable, etc., then a. Measure the distance from wall to the center of each line. 3 2.2 Wall Plan (VERTICAL) Draw a rough wall plan for each wall previously marked as WALL A, WALL B, etc like below on a separate piece of paper, and follow the steps below to measure and mark: 5. Mark locations of windows, then measure a. From floor to ceiling; b. From floor to window sill; c. From window sill to top of window; d. From top of window to ceiling; *make sure 5A = 5B + 5C + 5D 6. Mark locations of water lines, drains, gas line, hood vents, electric outlets and switches, wallmounted telephone, TV cable, etc. then measure a. From corner to each line; b.
