1 Fourth Grade Summer Reading Program Mary F. Williams Elementary School The purpose of the PWCS Summer Reading Program is to encourage students to enjoy quality literature and to continue developing their independent reading skills. Student participation in the program is voluntary. Students who choose to participate in the program are required to complete a minimum number of readings over the summer. Students in Grades 4 who participate will complete a list of books read. The documentation should include the name of the author, the title of the book, and a parent or guardian statement that the student has completed the reading. For Grade 4 students who participate in Prince William County Public Library's Summer Reading Program, the Public Library documentation will apply. Students will receive an extra A (100) for each book completed, for a maximum total of three. Completion of the summer reading will be recorded for students by the end of the second week of school. Other books selected by the student with guidance from a parent/guardian and/or librarian are also acceptable. Evan makes a bet to see who can make the most money selling lemonade (winner takes all). Each chapter begins with a brief description of an economic/business term that relates to the ongoing sibling war. Part of a series.. DiCamillo, Kate DiCamillo, Kate Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane The Tale of Despereaux 2006 Edward Tulane, a selfish toy rabbit, learns about love after he falls overboard on a trip with his owner. Holmes, Jennifer Babymouse: Queen of the World Various Graphic Novel- An imaginative mouse dreams of being queen of the world, but will settle for an invitation to the most popular girl's slumber party. Part of a popular series Holm, Jennifer Squish: Super Amoeba 2011 Graphic Novel-The young amoeba Squish, inspired by his favorite comic book hero, Super Amoeba, tries to navigate his way through school and save his friends and the world from the evils that lurk in the halls. Part of a series Marcionette, Jake Just Jake 2014 Middle schooler Jake Ali Mathews and his family move from Florida to Maryland and Jake must start at the bottom of the social ladder once again, but he is determined to make friends and get back on top with the help of his box of "kid cards" and his natural "awesomeness." Messner, Kate Ranger in Time, Rescue on the Oregon Trail 2015 Ranger, a golden retriever, could have been a great search-and-rescue dog except for the squirrels, but one day he unearths a mysterious box and finds himself transported back to the year 1850, where his faithful service is really needed by a family traveling west along the Oregon Trail.
