First, we have a great meeting planned for October 9 and of course we have our annual coin show and gold & silver coin raffle on October 25! There is still a lot of work to do to ensure our coin show is another great success. We will be having a board meeting just before our regular meeting at 6:30pm on Friday in order to discuss our coin show and to make sure all will run smoothly. I encourage all members to join us at this meeting and participate. And of course, any help you can provide at the coin show on October 25 is also greatly appreciated! I can t promise you will win if you buy tickets, but I will guarantee that you will not win if you do not buy raffle tickets! John Duff is a member of the Glendale Coin Club and is the current Vice President of the Verdugo Hills Coin Club. John is also a lifetime member of the ANA as well as an active member of the Early American Copper Club (EAC). Until the end of 2015, memberships are available for only $10 for the first year! With your membership, you will receive a print subscription to the award winning publication, The California Numismatist, which is edited by Greg Burns. That alone is well worth the membership cost as it has great articles and lots of information about local clubs and local coin shows. The NASC also does a lot of good work to help support area coin clubs, including our Glendale Coin Club. For example, through their annual gold coin drawing, our club was able to earn over $200! 6 Page 6 Glendale Coin Club Gold and Silver Coin Raffle... It is that time of year again for our annual gold and silver coin raffle! As usual, our raffle will be held at our annual coin show at the Van Nuys Masonic Lodge on October 25, This year, we have obtained more prizes and better prizes including several certified coins and a top prize of a 1926 $10 Gold Indian Eagle Graded PCGS MS63! In order to cover the cost of the prizes and raise funds for our club, that means we need you to sell (or buy yourself) more raffle tickets this year! As an incentive for everyone to buy more tickets this year we have added prizes for those who purchase more than $50 worth of tickets. Given the popularity of our 2015 Glendale Coin Club Medals, you will have the chance to earn a copper, and/or silver medal if you purchase enough tickets! Please come to our meeting for more details and to pick up plenty of raffle tickets to buy for yourself and to sell to family and friends, remember you do not need to attend to win and a single $2 ticket can win a gold coin worth approximately $1000! $2 per ticket $10 for 6 tickets $50 for 30 tickets + Copper Medal $150 for 90 tickets + Silver & Copper Medals
