3 Czechoslovakia 809 ** f Hare Running Complete Booklet, of 8 stamps plus two labels, very fine, mint never hinged and rarely offered....scott U$900 Republic of China x */** Group of Interesting Early Varieties, all mint never hinged except for Scott #B8 (with dramatic double overprint). Also Eastern Silesia Plebiscite overprint SO 1920 on Scott #1 (pair, with one stamp missing overprint), (single with 19 and 20 separated) and (inverted overprint on unissued stamp). Czechoslovakia items with dramatic double printing on Scott #23 block of four, #3 block of four and #2 vertical pair. Lastly, a corner block of four of Scott #307 (red army soldier) with double printing. Also includes a 30h red violet 1919 issue which we describe as perforated 11¾ (Scott #47) which is signed and has a backstamp indicating it is perforated 11½ (the rare perforation, Michel #29Aa, cat inspect). 810 (*) 1095a 1954 Opening of Silo Bridge Imperforate Souvenir Sheet, unused (no gum, as issued) in a presentation folder, with moderate staple holes and a very light vertical bend affecting one stamp, else very fine and scarce.... 4 France France -- French Colonies x * f Bear Souvenir Sheet of French legion of Volunteers Against Bolshevism, used on cover, tied with Feldpost cancels dated OCT addressed to The Hague. A rare and very fine souvenir sheet, even more so on cover and accompanied by a 2009 Philatelic Foundation certificate stating did not pass through the mails.... Est $ (*) Reunion 1852 Two First Issue Reprints, both unused (no gum) with hinge remnants. The #1 is on bluish, thin paper (tear across stamp) and #2 is also on bluish paper, but a little thicker. The framelines do not appear like those of known reprints, so sold as is. Uncommon.... Est $50 Germany x821 x (*) 3d c black Cérès Imperforate Reprint on Yellowish Paper, unused (no gum) marginal block of four, very fine. Spink / Maury #3k, 1,000. 4,350 complete sets were printed by the French government specifically for Sir Rowland Hill.... Scott U$2, ** B49-B Complete Wagner Set, mint never hinged, with fresh colours and each stamp (except the 12pf) with a numbered sheet selvedge, very fine. A choice set.... Scott U$2, B49-B Complete Wagner Set, used with c.d.s. cancels, very fine and scarce....scott U$ fr lake Napoléon Imperforate, used with ideal and light dotted lozenge postmark, four large margins and very fine. Maury / Spink catalogue #18, 4, Scott U$2, fr deep lake Napoléon Imperforate, used with dotted Paris star cancel. Appears to have four large margins but top margin skillfully added, else very fine appearance of this better shade. Maury / Spink catalogue #18b (carmin foncé), 5, Scott U$2, (*) B OSTROPA Souvenir Sheet, unused (no gum) which is the ideal way to conserve these souvenir sheets, as the gum was destructive. A few creases and hinges solidifying the perforations, still very fine appearance.

Accompanied by a 2016 SBPV (Switzerland) certificate referring to Sassone Specialized catalogue number 2370Aa (with photocopy of catalogue listing). A lovely and valuable modern variety....sassone 4,500 Italian States 834 (*) m to 1 Pictorial Set, unused (no gum) and overall very fine.... Scott U$1,012 Nepal With the following 12 lots we have tried to describe only the most obvious faults, especially those which would have occurred after manufacture, as the paper quality of these issues often lacks of uniformity, and inclusions or other natural paper faults can often be seen. Accompanied by a 2016 Sergio Sismondo certificate....est $150 Japan 833 ** y deep blue Locomotive Assembly, mint never hinged single from top of sheet (thus clearly showing watermark), fresh and fine....scott U$ (*) ½a black Imperforate, Setting 3 unused (no gum) block of 56, on thin white native paper. Missing the top row of the sheet, with some thinning at upper right corner and paper thickening faults in rows 1 and 2, otherwise clear impressions and generally very fine. Setting 3 is unusual in that most stamps which can be attributed to this setting are pin-perforated.... Est $

7 836 (*) ½a black Imperforate, Setting 14, State 1 lower right unused (no gum) block of 18. This last setting was printed in sheets of 56, with the bottom row cut away. Any sheet or block showing a partially inked frame is rare. Very fine.... Est $300 x , 10a 1925 ½a black Imperforate, Setting 13 two full used panes of 64. One has its position 64 slightly clipped, one with scarce Chisapani telegraph cancels, hinged to page but no apparent major faults, the second with less common Kathmandu telegraphic cancels.... Est $ (*)/8 10, 10a ½a black Imperforate, lot of seventeen full sheets of 64, including Setting 8 (3 sheets, one with 3 stamps cut into, one having 6 stamps with holes), Setting 10 (5 sheets, one ex. Gupta missing positions 1, 9 and 17, another with 3 stamps with holes), Setting 12 (4 sheets, one quite badly stained in top row), Setting 13 (5 sheets). Original owner paid up to $1,500 per sheet. All are scanned online Est $ , 10a 1925 ½a black Imperforate, Setting 12, State 1 full used pane of 64. Position 42 with single blister flaw and position 25 not inverted. The only recorded sheet of this state. The clarity of impression and darkness of the colour ranges downward from the upper left and lower right corner. Original owner paid $3,000 for this sheet. Very fine.... Est $ (*)/8 10, 10a ½a black Imperforate, lot of 5 full sheets, with Setting 8 (used with Birganj cancels), Setting 10 (used, natural paper flaw in bottom right stamp), Setting 12 (used, slightly cut into top right stamp), Setting 13 (used with Chisapani cancels, a few stamps with faults) and Setting 14 (unused, very fine). Most are still hinged onto pages but we have not seen any major flaws despite this. 8 Nepal continued , 16a a chestnut Imperforate, Setting 29, complete used pane of 54 (missing the clichés for positions 1 and 9), telegraphically used. With 6 inverts and blurred printing as usual for this setting.... Est $ , 12a 1926 ½a black Pin Perf, Setting 13, full used pane of 64 with less common Kathmandu cancels. On exhibit page originally identifying it as being Setting 12, corrected to Setting 11, and sold now as Setting 13. Complete margins but hole in position 9 and central stain caused by paper manufacture....est $ A a pale ultramarine Imperforate full used pane of 64, with minor faults but very fine appearance and very fine impression....est $ (*) 16, 16a s red brown Imperforate, Setting 31 full unused (no gum) pane of 53 (missing clichés in positions 1, 9 and 49) with seven inverts. An album shows early (1930s and 1940s) singles and blocks, plus some more modern (1960s and 1970s) sheets, part sheets, from Canada, Denmark, etc. A box contains a good variety of mostly Canadian sheets part sheets, etc, mostly from the 1950s to the 1970s. Also a number of Easter seal envelopes from the 1980s and 1990s with their stamps still inside. Mostly very fine. 864 ** Collection of Juan De Fuca Strike Mail Despatch Labels all different, with complete sets, and all mint never hinged. There are 245 stamps in all, including 30 singles, 18 souvenir sheets of four and 21 souvenir sheets of five. Very fine */** Collection of Souvenir Labels, Christmas Stamps, Philatelic Exhibition Stamps, etc. with mostly Canadian and US stamps, including better such as Stamp exhibition issues for 1937 (Toronto), 1936 (New York, International), 1951 (Toronto, International), sets of Golden Jubilee, 1940 Olympic games, 1939 World s Fair (New York), variety of Canadian and US Christmas and other Seals (including sheets) and much more. Thousands in all, with a good variety of different, overall fine **/* Collection of Rouletted Winnipeg and Pembina Courier Labels, also called Local Post Labels, issued by Kasimir Bileski and used by him during Canada Post strikes between 1975 and 1980, as he mailed his letters from Pembina North Dakota. Includes 14 of the 22 stamps listed in Lafrenière in singles, as well as those same 15 stamps in full sheets of 15. These are mint never hinged, and are all of the rouletted stamps issued. He later produced perforated stamps from 1981 to This lot also includes 14 scarce used covers, all mailed between 1975 and 1979 from the United States, either from Pembina or a few other places.
