3 Foreword This Standard replaces TB/T "Flame Retardance Requirements of Nonmetallic Materials of Passenger Train" and TB/T "Selection Requirements of Nonmetallic Materials of Passenger Train". During the drafting, this Standard has take reference to relevant international and foreign standards UIC "Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Rules of the Same Type Vehicle of Railway Train or International Railway Transportation" and NF F "Selection Requirements of Flame Retardant Material of Railway Locomotive and Vehicle". Compared with TB/T and TB/T , the main supplements and modifications od this Standard are as follows: - Add physical, mechanical properties, and technical requirements of test method of flame retardant materials for locomotive and vehicle. - Add the limit index requirements of smoke density of flame retardant materials for locomotive and vehicle. - Add the harmful matter limits of interior decoration materials for locomotive and vehicle. - Increase the flame retardant property index of materials such as structural material and textile. - Add the category of flame retardant materials for locomotive and vehicle. This Standard was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of Standard Metrology Institute of the Ministry of Railways. Scope This Standard specifies the technical requirements and test method of flame retardant materials for railway locomotive and vehicle. This Standard is applicable to the flame retardant materials for railway locomotive and vehicle with maximum operation speed less than 200km/h. 2. Technical Requirements and Test Method 3.1 Materials for Vehicle Body High-pressure decorative board Technical requirements of high-pressure decorative board (laminated board) for the top slab, wallboard and partition wall board shall meet those specified in Table 1. Other Technical Requirements 4.1 Harmful substance limit Various flame retardant materials involved in this Standard shall not only meet the technical requirements specified in this Standard, but also the relevant requirements of TB/T Aging resistance Page 14 of 17

9 Various flame retardant materials involved in this Standard shall not only meet the relevant requirements of this technical specification, but shall be provided with the aging resistant functions like resistant to ultraviolet. 4.3 Appearance quality The outer surface color, luster of various panels, and masked materials involved in this Standard shall be uniform. Defects such as pock markings, needle holes, sags, crests, or other visible scratches and mending traces shall not be allowed to exist. Visible surface and back of panel shall be even. The cut surface shall be free from defects like layered burr. 4.4 Surface cleaning Thermoplastic engineering plastic and fiber reinforced plastic panel shall be convenient for washing. Organic solvent such as benzene, gasoline, acetone, tetrachloromethane shall not allowed for surface cleaning. Neutrality detergent or ethanol may be used. After the scrubbing with clear water, color shading or trace shall not occurs. Page 15 of 17
