Meeting in August of 1997, Laurie Martin and Amber McCullough became fast friends and sorority sisters during rush week at Oklahoma State University. The above lyrics are from a song they regularly sang with Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Little did they know how true these lyrics would become a short 13 years later. Both being reps in the gift industry brought them the knowledge and appreciation for the wholesale market. When the opportunity to purchase Luminary Candles, LLC presented itself, they ran with it! First order of business was to move the company from Dallas, TX to Edmond, OK. And Hoot Candles was born! Every detail of their company, from the owl to the colors in the logo, has a significant meaning to their friendship.
