1 Your Guide to Your New Site Congratulations on obtaining a position on the Graduate Leadership Programme at Morgan Advanced Materials. We are sure that you are both excited and nervous to start and you probably have some questions about where you will be working, so here s a little guide to make everything a little clearer. 2 THE BROMBOROUGH SITE Morgan Advanced Materials Fibre Centre of Excellent is located in Bromborough, Wirral. It is the global research and development centre for fibre products and is responsible for the development of the next generation of bio-soluble AES and PCW products, which target new markets and applications through compositional improvements over the previous generation. Thermal Ceramics UK Trading is located within Bromborough, Wirral. It is the sales office & warehouse for the UK and Scandinavian territory, for all refractory products including castables, fibre, bricks and microporous products. What to expect on your first day On your first day you will meet your new team and be shown around your department. You will also be given a full introduction to the company, which will include a site tour, spending time in the factory, and inductions with HR, IT and EH&S (Environmental, Health and Safety). During the week your manager will run through what is expected of you throughout the year, go into more details about the projects you will be working on and will set your objectives. Dress Code: Day-to-day the dress code is business casual - this means smart trousers and a shirt/jumper for gents (not suit and tie) and smart trousers/skirt for ladies (again not a suit). If you are attending a meeting or presenting then check with your line manager if you need to wear more formal attire.

3 LOCAL AREA: Bromborough is a large village within the Borough of the Wirral. Situated along the River Mersey, it is conveniently located between the cities of Chester & Liverpool. Comprising a mixture of residential, industrial and commercial areas, there is a wide selection of amenities within the local area and beyond. Nearby cities include: Liverpool (8 miles) Chester (13 miles) Manchester (40 miles) Bromborough has close motorways and good links to large cities and is within easy access of the M6, M62, M56, & M53. There are both bus stops and train stations within a close distance from the site with Bromborough Rake train station nearby. The times and stops can be found at: There is a main Train Station in Bromborough as well, which has trains that run to and from Liverpool central. The nearest airports are Liverpool John Lennon, and Manchester International both of which are within 40 miles. Finding somewhere to live... We understand that relocating can be difficult, especially when moving to a completely new place. Therefore to help you we have put together a list of estate agencies, websites and recommendations, which will hopefully make relocating a whole lot easier. There is a variety of Bars and Pubs in Bromborough which are popular, as well as a couple of clubs slightly further afield. Liverpool has a really big nightlife scene with Alma de Cuba reccomended, furthermore Missoula in Chester and The Refreshment Rooms in Rock Ferry are rated highly.
