FLORETS BEADED BRACELET BEADING & JEW ELRY MAKING TUTORIAL SERIES T156 COPYRIGHT Copyrights DIY Beading Club 2013 Published By DIY Beading Club
INTRODUCTION This bracelet is formed by 2 petals per row using right angle weaving technique. Each petal has 6 circles. Right-angle weave is so-named because of the way the beads lie at right angles to one another. The tutorial is catered for intermediate to advance students. It has in-depth instructions and ultra-clear, close-up photos at each step. Additionally, you can ask me question you have on the tutorial. No more getting stuck and frustrated on a confusing or just plain inaccurate pattern. Materials Needed For 14-cm bracelet 198 3mm crystals (B) 300 seed beads (S) 2 stop beads Clasp MATERIALS AND TOOLS NEEDED: To add length to the bracelet, every additional 1.2 cm, you will need to add 18 x 3mm crystal and 30 seed beads to the materials list. Tools Needed Scissors Ruler or tape measure Definition L - Stands for Left thread R - Stands for Right thread B - Stands for bicone S - Stands for seed beads CROSS - means passing both threads into an existing bead PASS - means passing a thread to an existing bead and/or beads The number beside the letters S & B ie 1S or 1B represents the number of seed beads and/or bicones needed to string or slide into the thread. Important Tips This bracelet is created with 2 flower petals per row. You will create the rows till you reach your desired length for the bracelet. Each petal has 6 circles. Each circle is
formed by the same combination of Ss and Bs. You should check if the same pattern is created for every step you make. If you notice any inconsistency, you should remove the beads from the thread and repeat the process. This observation is important as you would not like to discover error only after you have created the whole bracelet :) Also, as the pattern can be complicated, you should stay focus when creating this bracelet. STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS Step 1: Now, we are going to make the first petal from the bottom. Cut an arm length of thread that you can comfortably handle and then string seed beads and bicones in the following order: 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B. Position the beads at the center of the thread. On the image you have your Left (L) and Right (R) threads.
CROSS L into the last B from R thread. Pull the threads. You now have both threads crossing into a bicone. Now you have the first circle created for the petal.
Step 2: On your L slide in 1S. On your R slide 1S, 1B, 1S, and 1B. Then CROSS L into the last B from the R thread. You notice you now have the second circle.
Step 3: On your R slide in the following: 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B, 1S. Then CROSS L into the last seed bead (S) you just added and pull the thread. You now have the third circle for the petal.
Step 4: Going left PASS L into the nearest 2 seed beads shown in brackets. On your L slide in 3S.
CROSS R into the last seed bead you just added. You notice you have created a circle with seed beads for the petal. Step 5: Next, pull the thread and then going right, PASS R into the nearest bicone.
On your R slide in 1S, 1B, 1S. On your L slide 1B. CROSS L into the last S from your R. You have just created the forth circle.
Step 6: At this stage, though we have not completed the first petal, we are connecting the first petal to the second petal. This step shows you the making of the circle made of seed beads at the center of the second petal. On your L slide in 5S.
CROSS R into the last S from L Step 7: Going right PASS R into the nearest B bicone shown in arrow and continue to slide in the following. 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B.
Then CROSS L into the last B bicone you just added shown in arrow. You would notice you are forming one circle for the second petal. You would probably notice that the second petal now has 2 circles of which the first circle is sharing the same circle from first petal which we made in step 5.
Step 8: Continue with the following: L - PASS the thread to the nearest S on the left. R - slide in 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B. Then CROSS L into the last B bicone from R. This is the 3rd circle for second petal.
Step 9: On your R continue to slide in 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B. Going left PASS L into the nearest S shown in arrow. Then CROSS L into the last B from R thread. This is the 4th circle for the second petal.
Step 10: R - slide in 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B. L - PASS the L thread through the S bead Then CROSS L into the last B bicone you just added from the R thread. This is the fifth circle.
Step 11 Then PASS L into nearest1s, 1B, 1S. On R, add in 1S, 1B.
Then CROSS L into last B from R thread to form a circle. You notice you have completed the full (6th) circle for second petal.
Step 12 Now we are moving back to first petal to complete the full circle. You notice the first petal now has the 5th circle which is was created from second petal. Now let's complete the 6th circle for first petal. PASS L into the nearest 1S, 1B.
Then add in 1S, 1B, 1S on L thread. CROSS R thread into the last S from L thread to form the sixth circle. So now you have two petals created!
Step 13: Now on R thread, PASS the thread into 2 nearest seed beads. Then continue to slide in 3S on your R thread.
CROSS L thread into last S bead from R thread. Step 14: On your L, pass the thread into the nearest 1B shown in arrow, then slide in 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B.
CROSS R thread into last bead from L thread to form the circle. Step 15: On your L slide in 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B. On your R, PASS the thread into nearest S shown in arrow.
Then CROSS R into the last bicone you just added. Step 16: On your L slide in 1S, 1B, 1S. Then PASS R into the last S and B you just added
Pull the thread. You would notice you have created the third petal! Step 17: On your L slide in 3 S and PASS R into 2 S shown in arrow.
Then CROSS R into the last S from L. Pull the thread. Step 18: Now repeat Step 5 till 17 until you almost reach your desired length for the bracelet.
Step 19: Now, we are ready to complete the bracelet by ending in the hook. Pass the right thread through the bicone and then slide in 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B. Then CROSS L into last B from R. Pull the thread.
Step 20: PASS L into the S shown in arrow. Slide 1S, 1B, 1S, 1B on R. CROSS R into the last S from L.
Step 21: Going left PASS L into the nearest S and B. Continue with L by adding in 1S, 1B, 1S Then CROSS L with B from R.
Step 23: On both threads slide 1S and 1B. Then slide both threads into a bead stopper.
Then your clasp. And pass both threads back thru the bead stopper. Pull the thread to tighten the bracelet. Secure the threads by passing the threads back thru several beads and making knots. Cut off excess threads.
Step 24: You should add in a new thread approximately the length of your bracelet size and at least add 10 cm. Pass the thread into bead where you cut off your access thread from previous step. You should be heading to the other end of the bracelet to finish off your bracelet. Repeat Step 19 to 23.
Pass the thread through the bracelet again to tighten the bracelet. Tie a knot and pass it through few more beads before you cut off the excess thread. You're done. It is not easy to make this bracelet. You probably have to redo the process some steps along the way.. That is normal and it is part of learning. Congratulation for completing the project!
