12 CREATE YOUR STYLE Design Project Summer Holiday Luggage Tag Fish STEP 1: STEP 2: STEP 3: STEP 4: STEP 5: STEP 6: STEP 7: STEP 8: STEP 9: STEP 10: STEP 11: STEP 12: STEP 13: Print out pattern with measurements as you see in illustration and cut out fi sh along red outline with scissors. Put some double sided tape behind the pattern, affi x it to the leather and cut out outline of pattern and rectangle which are marked with red lines in illustration. Remove paper pattern from leather fi sh. Put some double sided tape onto back side of leather fi sh and glue it onto a plastic folder. Sew with sewing machine along outline of rectangle as arrow head with number 1 depicts in illustration, then cut plastic folder a few millimeters inside the leather fi sh as arrow head number 2 shows. Remove all double sided sticky tape pieces from plastic and leather. Thread a needle with nylon thread and tie a simple knot. Attach the fi rst Sew-on Stone from the SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS assortment. Each Swarovski Sew-on Stone should be affi xed with 2 stitches per hole. Repeat this step with remaining SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. See illustration for placement of crystals. After sewing last Swarovski Sew-on Stone onto leather make a knot and cut off excess nylon thread. Cut 2 15x15 cm stripes of leather. Put the interlining in between and iron the pieces together. Cut out of ironed piece one 13x1.5 cm stripe and one 15x1.5 cm stripe. Punch into the 15 cm long stripe a hole with punching pliers, slide the buckle onto the stripe and go through the hole as you see in illustration. Fold the leather in front of the hole to the back side and sew in place. Cut an angle on one side of 13 cm long leather stripe as shown in the illustration and punch 4 holes with punching pliers. Put some double sided tape onto back side of fi sh (where plastic is sewn on) and put the plastic on top of fi sh (please take care that there is no tape inside of inner rectangle). Cut out the plastic along outline of fi sh as you see in illustration. Put some more double sided sticky tape onto plastic and stick fi sh onto a leather piece. Put both ends of the stripes with clasp between fi sh and leather piece and sew all around outline of fi sh. For sewing use zipper foot as you see in illustration, so that the SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS don t get destroyed. Then cut out fi sh along out line as you see in illustration. Cut one side of the plastic with cutter along fat dotted line (as arrow head depicts in illustration- don t cut through fi sh, just cut the upper plastic). Print out your name and address onto rose paper and cut paper to a rectangle of 4.5x8 cm. Insert into plastic part of the fi sh. 12 /12
