7 Our Story Exciting. Action packed. Challenging. And always looking forward to more! That's us and our story so far. And we knew from that bright sunny day in December 2011 when our rst board was pressed on the Wemhoener short-cycle press that the journey ahead would be full of exciting challenges and opportunities and that innovation will be the most important constant. And we have been proved right throughout! Our roots date back a decade when Asian Exims and Fishfa Group, both leading players in their respective wood and glass industries partnered together to create Asian Prelam - and with that set out to rede ne the modular furniture industry in India. From the uncompromising infrastructure to the carefully selected premium raw materials, perfection and quality were the core around which all our decisions were made and implemented. The fact that the group has nine production and distribution facilities employing over one thousand people is a di erent story altogether, and we will leave that for another day. For now we can only tell you that not only have we transformed the service benchmark in the prelaminated boards industry, but our unwavering push for innovation has provided the Indian industry new avenues and products for making truly world class interior spaces. 10 Medium Density Fibreboards (MDF) purity in boards Medium Density Fiberboards have completely revolutionized the prelaminated board industry. Frequently shortened to MDF, these medium density Fiberboards are extremely popular as material of choice in high-quality furniture merited by its extensive e ciency, exibility and serviceability. 39 Roma Edge Bands Our exclusive association with Roma Plastik (now a part of Egger Group) for edge-bands has been a fortuitous and highly advantageous addition to our product range, o ering you the remarkable convenience of getting matching edge-bands to Asians and Egger s entire range of décors with matching surface nish and texture. Our edge-bands are o ered in three types: ABS Edging ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) is a chlorine-free thermoplastic edge that has a positive ecological balance. ABS Edging is made by extrusion or, for the nest thicknesses, using the calendaring process. It is available in a variety of widths and thicknesses speci cally manufactured to achieve the best match with coordinated products. End Grain Edging A notch above the rest, End-Grain Edging has the look and feel of sawn timber, complete with its annual rings, for a highly authentic result. They are available in several decors chosen for their highly natural wood e ect, and perfectly complement Egger s FeelWood textures. PVC Edging PVC is considered the rst material ever to be used for edge-banding. It is ideal for machining, easy to bond and trim and is available with perfectly matched décor and colours. Acryl Edging A revolutionary edging, the basic material for this is acryl (PolyMethylMethAcrylat). PMMA is a high quality thermoplastic and is highly scratch and abrasion resistant. The decor printed on the back of the transparent PMMA has an exceptional 3D nish. It expands design possibilities in interior design as accent and uni edging. 39
