4 materials alder smooth, straight-grained, medium hardwood that ranges in color pale pinkish-brown to light tan. exotic engineered veneer reconstituted common wood fiber engineered to reproduce the natural appearance of unique exotic wood species. maple strong, fine textured hardwood with a uniform grain and very subtle figure. Color is creamy white with a slight reddish brown tinge. bamboo straight grain orientation, characterized by distinctive growth nodes. 11 our story In 1979, Dieter Nickel convinced his father, Peter, to join him in a business venture that had the pair building cabinets in their garage. From this humble beginning, the Nickels reputation for quality cabinetry and reliable service began to grow. Out of the garage and into a small warehouse, Nickels continued to serve a growing base of local clients. After many years of careful planning, we moved the operation to our present location in Richmond, BC. Dieter Nickel continues to own and operate a state-of-the-art production facility and showroom where our most important asset is the skilled and experienced team of long-serving employees.
