2 About FEDP The Process Facilities Engineering Development Program (FEDP) is a series of practical capacity enhancement programs designed for individuals in Engineering and Science fields. There are programs designed for three main categories: Pre-University Science Students Engineering and Science Undergraduates Engineering and Science graduates. The programs are designed to enhance the participants success in the application of self, academic knowledge, skills in either finding rewarding jobs or developing valuable products or services for the society. Pre-University students are able to choose appropriate courses, but also gain valuable skills to secure quality internships. Acquiring basic work efficiency practices allow them to practice and enhance performance through multiple opportunities including National service. These contribute to optimizing on employability and entrepreneurship potentials. Although the oil & gas industry is the baseline for the program curriculum, the principles cover a wide range of industrial applications including Power, IT, Systems, Communications and Energy as a whole. This is achieved through innovative skills impacting processes that bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial application of scientific facts to resolve societal challenges. A purpose-built multi-million dollar model oil and gas production facility in Lekki, Lagos provides excellent platform for profound learning and skills acquisition. Participants are also exposed to basics of design practices through robust application of experienced-based engineering judgement. The program recognizes that although industry application software such as Aspen HYSYS, OFFPIPE, PIPESIM, CAESAR II, ProSIM, FRED, THESIS, CHARMS etc. are computer tools that enhance the speed, accuracy and delivery of engineering solutions, they do not replace but rather complement core engineering design fundamentals.
