2 About Me I am a User Experience and Visual Designer with 17 years of experience researching, testing, and designing; along with a Master s of Science in User Experience Design and a Bachelor s of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I have designed physical products, website, applications, and rooms. I work as a freelance designer/consultant as well as for major corporations.

7 Questionnaires Interviews Ethnography Brief Description of each? A method of asking a series of question normal from least specific to more specific Asking people questions and how they feel about a product.they can be unstructure, semistructured, or structured A research method of observing people in their own environment, rather than in a formal research facility. Why I use them? I use them to get a general design direction and gain basic data on user technical knowledge level. I use unstructured or semi-structured interviews to get answers to specific questions I have as well as to allow the interviewee to openly talk about their experiences It allows me to see what they actually do, instead of what they say they do. I use this on more complex designs. Scenarios Create Artifacts Personas A story that describes a specific use case for a group of people. They can note the goals as well as may tell a solution. Are a fictional characters that are based on real-life observations. They represent a groups of users with objectives and needs. I use them to predict user behaviours, create questions, and help other groups better understand how we can enhance the user s experience. I use them to help define who we are designing for as well as to help the group stay focus on the design needs. Comments/Questions Informal Discussion Troubleshooting Lesson learned 2/3 of company does not have a company provided laptop Result: Added a PC, wireless Keyboard and Mouse to room designs. This allow more people to have access to the tools within a room.
