2 Stages of technological development of the region Modern university is a center of research and technological competencies for the local economy Ural Federal University jointly with the Ural branch of RAS forms an intellectual think tank of the Sverdlovsk and Ural regions UrFU provides active support for the regional government in order to form a successful model for knowledge transfer across the region and with the international community University s projects to support regional development in include: Identifying breakthrough technologies for the region Estimating current competencies of the region Searching for potential partners Aligning regional development strategic plans with current competencies Providing connection with national and international technological competencies through University s innovation infrastructure
