2 NIEF PLASTIC's Policy for the Global Compact Thinking sustainability within NIEF PLASTIC by Gilles Nief, General Managing Director NIEF PLASTIC has become involved in the environmental protection and in the improvement of the working conditions for several years. An intern commission for Environment & Security, shaped by staff members, has been set up to lead a concrete corporate policy. Thanks to the staff's involvement NIEF PLASTIC has been ISO certified since We now intend to be OHSAS certified on November, Adopting the Global Compact 10 principles is in keeping with our vision of our mission statement : doing our business regardful of our corporate social and environmental responsability. The "Forum des Amis du Pacte Mondial"* has launched an action to support the French SMEs that have joined the Global Compact since This action has been locally coordinated by a French leading firm and two French Grandes Ecoles. The case of Rhône Alpes, the second most dynamic region in France, epitomizes this new way of implementing the Global Compact, with Biomérieux, EMLYON, School of Management and Centrale Lyon, its counterpart for engineers. A team of motivated students has been shaped and supervised by professors and a Biomérieux's top executive. On February, this group has been trained by Claude Fussler, editor of Raising the Bar, itself. NIEF PLASTIC and many other companies in Rhône Alpes have agreed to be followed and supported by this young team. This brochure is the fruit of their cooperation. * Forum of Global Compact's friends
