5 Priority: Support the transition of students and young professionals into engineering careers Work with educational stakeholders to promote engineering as an inspiring career choice Provide a range of scholarships to support engineering students into education Promote role models and case studies of successful young engineers from diverse backgrounds Work with universities and employers to increase visibility on campus and successful transition into employment Structure services, communications and pricing to career stage (Professional Home for Life) Embed younger members in IET governance & volunteering Promote professional registration as achievable at an earlier career stage than currently perceived Support greater professionalism through technician-level qualifications KPI: The number of non-student/apprentice members below the age of 40 The number of newly registered members Working to engineer a better world 5

6 Priority: Engagement with professional development to ensure and demonstrate engineering competency Provide tools to support and monitor structured CPD (Career Manager) Focus activities around sectors so engineers can quickly identify relevance Inspire and inform new and experienced engineers and technologists with a range of events and lectures on cutting edge topics Develop comprehensive, structured and accessible learning solutions (the IET Academy) Encourage global networking and peer-peer sharing of information and ideas via online engineering communities Support the development and adoption of technical quality standards Encourage volunteering to provide ambassadors and utilise their skills and knowledge to deliver local activity Provide solutions for SMEs in developing their engineers knowledge & competence KPIs: The number of event attendees physical and virtual Working to engineer a better world 6
