1 Al-Mazouzi, Abdou (EDF R&D, France) Executive Committee Candidates 6th General Assembly 28th March 2017, Amsterdam Candidates List Industry (7) Dr. A. Al Mazouzi got his PhD in material science from both the university of Marseille /France and the Free University of Berlin/Germany. From 1989-to 1993 he worked as Post Doc at Hahn Meitner Institute in Berlin/Germany. Thereafter he was appointed as visiting scientist at Kyoto University Japan from 1993 to In 1995 he became a member of the Polytechnical School of Lausanne CRPP/EPFL-Fusion technology, then in 1999 he joined the department of Nuclear Safety at the Paul Scherrer institute in Switzerland, during which he spend a year at Livermore national Lab. USA. From 2002 until 2009, He worked at SCK.CEN/Belgium as senior scientist. Currently, Abdou is working as Senior Engineer and Projects Manager at EDF R&D, that he joined since April Since June 2012, he is acting as the EDF representative in both the NUGENIA secretariat and EXCOM. Abdou initiated and coordinated a certain number of international and European projects. He is author or co-author or more than 70 peer reviewed papers, and is member of many international and regional scientific groups. Since my involvement at NUGENIA, I am contributing daily to make the association as the reference one within its field. My daily contact with the stakeholders enforces my believe that NUGENIA has to play its key role in demonstrating the high quality of European expertise in the field through R&D projects with high added value to the end users. LACIOK, Aleš (ČEZ, a. s., Czech Republic) Ales Laciok got his MSc at the Charles University, Prague, Faculty of Sciences (1991), where he consequently attended also postgraduate course ( ); he also got MBA degree from the Sheffield Hallam University (2006). His previous appointment was in the Nuclear Research Institute Rez ( ) where he was involved in or was responsible for various projects in development of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel management strategies, safety & risk analyses, fuel cycle analyses incl. socioeconomical aspects. Since February 2007 he is employed in CEZ, at the earliest he was responsible for various environmental-focused projects, then he have become the head of the research and development. His responsibility is coordination of research and development activities divided into 12 thematic areas (covering nuclear and conventional generation, mining, alternative fuels, diagnostics and monitoring, energy storage, smart grids, smart cities and energy savings, etc.). Ales has vast international experience - EC Framework Programmes - 5th (RISCOM II, TENORMHARM, SPIN), 6th (FUNMIG), 7th (Geocapacity End User Group, CO2EuroPipe, Nugenia+); International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); OECD - Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) or Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Moreover, Ales is member of the Governing Board of the SNETP (Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform), member of the Eurelectric Innovation Working Group and of the Foratom R&D Working Group. Ales is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Czech Technology Platform for Sustainable Energy, that is coordination body for energy research, development and innovation and counterpart of European technology platforms. In the Czech Republic, he is also member of the Engineering Academy of the Czech

2 Republic and member of scientific boards of several research organizations and editorial board of several specialized journals. Ales Laciok served in the NUGENIA Executive Committee in a period and he is also leader of the NUGENIA s Improved reactor operation technical area (TA3). He sees his role in the NUGENIA Executive Committee in fitting of the nuclear research in a broader context of energy research and technology trends. GLAS, Annika (Vattenfall, Sweden) Annika Glas gained a MSc in Materials Engineering from Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in She joined Vattenfall in 2012 and her current position is Senior Technical advisor at the Staff function Fleet Development. She is responsible for the reporting and follow up of investment plans for the Vattenfall Nuclear Fleet. She also works with strategy development and challenges for Long term operation for the Vattenfall Nuclear power plants. Annika has long experience from ageing management of components and structures within both nuclear and other industries, as well development of risk based methods for various applications. Hietanen, Ossi (FORTUM, Finland) I got my MSc degree in Technology (Metallurgy) at the Helsinki University of Technology in 1980 and after my graduation I worked as a materials specialist at Finnish Nuclear Safety Authority. Since 1985 I have been working at Fortum and its predecessor IVO (Imatran Voima Oy) in different positions related to materials engineering. My main activities are related to materials behaviour and performances in VVER/PWR conditions including structural materials and fuel cladding. Currently I'm acting as a manager of Materials and Structural Integrity Group at Fortum Power Division's Nuclear Engineering Department. I have been a reference group member of the Finnish National Research programmes on Nuclear Power Plant Safety in and continuing as a steering group and a reference group member in on-going SAFIR 2018-programme. I have actively participated Fortum's internal R&D-programs related to materials behaviour in VVER/PWR conditions. Many of these programs have not only been national but international e.g. research on IASSC of internals. Additionally I have been the head of Fortum's Gen IV program NEWCLEAR in I have also been Fortum's representative in the Nulife End User Group, and NUGENIA ExCom member As a NUGENIA ExCom member I would like to contribute a long term experience and contacts in Finnish nuclear generation as well experience from abroad especially on VVER/PWR NPP materials. I believe that I can use my experience to help NUGENIA to develop coherent R&D-programmes in particular supported by end users and funding bodies.

3 KEIM, Elisabeth (AREVA, Germany) AREVA fellow since 2003 with expertise in fracture mechanics and structural integrity; Manager, head of department Fracture Mechanics, Materials Testing and Irradiation Behavior Key Qualifications: Expert knowledge in the areas of stress and fracture mechanics computations, materials and fracture mechanics testing of unirradiated and irradiated materials, structural integrity and life time assessments of nuclear power plant components, with over 35 years experience in application and research & development and recognized as an opinion leader by the community. Over 25 years experience in project management of national and international projects for safety assessment of nuclear power plant components worldwide and driving force of establishing international collaborative R&D projects. Within AREVA also responsible for training of experts in her fields and supports thesis etc. of students in cooperation with Universities. More than 140 open literature publications; ASME PVPD conference awards, IAEA awards and AREVA scientific award. As one of the founding members of NUGENIA and member of the current executive committee, I am trying to continue my active role as technical expert (being the leader of NUGENIA Technical Area 4) and would like to continue as member of the executive committee to support NUGENIA in this way for implementing its strategy. With the long lasting experience I would like to help the executive committee to coordinate the planned activities of the NUGENIA groups, to ensure the best use of resources in achieving the Network objectives and to facilitate potential collaborative R&D at the European level. Karabaki, Ertugrul (Preussen Elektra, Germany) Ertu earned his M.Sc Degree in computational engineering from Ruhr University in Bochum in He started his work life at the department of Mechanical Engineering at Westinghouse Electric in Mannheim/Germany. After working on the vendor side almost 5 years in the areas of stress / fatigue analyses, structural integrity, codes and standards and project management, he changed to German operator company E.ON Kernkraft GmbH in 2010 which then became PreussenElektra GmbH (PEL) in He is in charge of long term fatigue evaluation programs of NPP primary circuit components, stress / fatigue analyses and project management. Beyond this, he is responsible for PreussenElektra wide R&D aspects in the framework of European projects like NUGENIA for Gen II&III reactors or dedicated projects like MOTHER or ADFAM. He is NUGENIA Executive Committee Member since 2016 Experience: Nuclear Generation II&III Association (NUGENIA) as legal follow-up of the EU Network of Excellence NULIFE, Member of Technical Area 4; Project Management in international projects in Europe, USA and South Africa Project Manager of NUGENIA R&D Project ADFAM Development of technical concepts and structural design and fatigue analysis of piping and components with German KTA code and ASME code Representation of E.ON Kernkraft GmbH on national and international platforms As a candidate for being a member of the NUGENIA Executive Committee, I have been intensively involved in the NUGENIA Forum Meetings and observed the successful transition of the former groups to a legal association, as it is NUGENIA today. Beyond this, I had set up the project ADFAM within the NUGENIA technical area TA4 as project leader, being one of the first projects under the NUGENIA umbrella, bringing the NUGENIA idea to life. In case of my election to the Executive Committee, key activities for next years will be the sustainable development of NUGENIA in terms of strategic orientation to EC s Horizon 2020 on one hand and successfully starting R&D

4 activities under the NUGENIA umbrella on the other hand. As WP 2 leader within the NUGENIA+ project, I am committed to support the NUGENIA Association in its role to coordinate and integrate European research on safety of the Gen II and III nuclear installations in order to better ensure their safe long term operation, integrating private and public efforts, and initiating international collaboration that will create added value in its activity fields. Summarized, I would very much like to work as a chain between technically positioning R&D activities, bring projects to life according to Association s strategic orientation and establishing the required administrative and internal procedures. SHARPLES, John (Amec Foster Wheeler, UK) John Sharples has a BSc Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has worked at Amec Foster Wheeler, and its preceding organizations, since 1983 working on research and development projects and on plant specific problems in the field of structural integrity and materials, primarily focused on the nuclear industry. He is recognized within the UK and internationally for his structural integrity expertise, specifically specializing in fracture mechanics. He has published numerous papers in the open literature, presented at many international conferences and run structural integrity training courses. He has been an active member of various technical committees and has participated in numerous European projects and networks over the years relating to structural integrity and plant life management and extension issues and he has led various work packages for these (e.g. NULIFE, STYLE, PERFORM 60). He currently is Operations Manager and Chief Technologist within the Materials Science and Structural Integrity (MSSI) Group in Amec Foster Wheeler. If I am re-elected to the Executive Committee, I intend to continue and extend the experience and networking I have gained over the years in order to help fulfil the NUGENIA vision. In particular, I am very much aware of the need to ensure that strong R & D project themes are developed that can be demonstrated to be beneficial to the end-user community. I also fully appreciate the need to develop project themes that cut-across the different technical areas and hence necessitate the combined working of experts from different technical backgrounds. I will do my very best to assist in the fulfilment of these requirements.

5 Candidates List R&D organisations (7) BOSCH, Rik-Wouter (SCK CEN, Belgium) Rik-Wouter Bosch is a senior research scientist working in the Structural Materials Expertise group of SCK CEN (Belgian Nuclear Research Centre). He has more than 18 years' experience in corrosion, electrochemistry and stress corrosion cracking research in high pressure, high temperature (nuclear) systems. He has been involved in various national and international research projects related to corrosion problems in LWRs and corrosion behaviour of fusion and Gen IV materials (EC framework programs, EPRI, EFDA, MYRRHA). He has a broad experience in European R&D projects both as participant and as project coordinator. He was member of the NULIFE Executive Group from 2009 to 2012 were he coordinated several pilot projects. Since then these efforts were continued within the NUGENIA Association, where he was among others responsible for mobility grants for young researchers through the NUGENIA-PLUS project. In addition he has focussed on the support of new projects ideas as coordinated research is one of the main objectives of NUGENIA Association. "My ambition for NUGENIA is to get more projects started with more different participants. My intention is not only to launch proposals myself, but also take an active role in helping other participants to change their ideas into proposals and change proposals into projects. In addition I think that NUGENIA should do an effort to increase the mobility of (young) researchers in Europe." Patrick Dumaz (CEA, France) Patrick Dumaz, 55, is an engineer at the Nuclear Energy Division (DEN) of CEA (Graduated from Arts et Métiers Paristech, University of Grenoble PhD). Currently, he is the DEN program manager of the R&D done by CEA for Generation 2 & Generation 3 LWRs (fuel and reactor performance and safety). P. Dumaz is involved in reactor engineering teaching at master level (M2 of nuclear energy of Paris/Saclay, Génie Atomique at Cadarache). P. Dumaz has started his career at IRSN (French Institute for Radioprotection and Nuclear Safety) working on PWR design basis accidents and on severe accidents. At the CEA Nuclear Energy Division, he worked for the LWR innovation program conducted by CEA during the 90 s. In the years 2000, he participated to the researches launched for Generation 4 nuclear systems, mainly the SFR (Sodium cooled Fast Reactor) the GFR (Gas cooled Fast Reactor) and the SCWCR (SuperCritical Water Cooled Reactor). During about 20 years, he was involved in many European Union research projects, Phebus-FP at IRSN, then, 5th and 6th FWP projects (coordinator of the DEEPSSi project). From 2008 to 2012, he was the technical advisor for nuclear energy of the French Atomic Energy High commissioner. Member of Nugenia Executive Committee since 2012, my ambition is to push the project creation process. We have within NUGENIA a huge potential to have more efficient and more ambitious projects.

6 CHAUMONT, Bernard (IRSN, France) Presently Deputy Director for Safety Research at IRSN since 2011, I had most of my 35 years carrier in the domain of Nuclear Reactor, and mainly in the field of research applied to PWRs. More precisely, I had different positions during 8 years in FRAMATOME company (now AREVA) as engineer for testing systems, operating reception tests in a NPP, then developing state oriented accidental operating procedures. Within IRSN, I have been first involved in safety assessment of accidental operating procedures and human reliability, in the development of calculation tools for Emergency Preparedness, and in the development of level 2 PSA. I have been then Department head for the severe accident Department and coordinator for programmes in the Research Programmes Strategy Directorate. As Deputy Director of Safety Research at IRSN, my responsibility covers the definition and reorientation of R and D programmes in the domains of severe accidents, safety systems, human and organizational factors, ageing and structural integrity of components and systems. I have been member of the national reactor safety standing group up to Concerning participation to international organisations and projects, in OECD/CSNI, I have been member of the WGAMA and participated in particular to ISP 47 and ISP 49 coordination, and I am presently representing IRSN at the steering committee for the STEM project. For the EC FP projects, I have been leading the STEPS EU project, I have been WP leader and member of the management team for the SARNET project; I am presently president of the PASSAM EU project steering committee, and member of steering committee for the Phébus-ISTP project. I am member of the ETSON/ERG (ETSON Research Group). For NUGENIA I am sub-area leader and co-leader of area one. If I am elected to the NUGENIA Executive Committee, I will continue to play an active role on the extensive work carried out developing the NUGENIA technical roadmap, in particular in the area 1. I expect also to contribute to the definition of more shared priorities and to the elaboration, development and valorisation of relevant projects starting from ideas and proposals already exchanged in the frame of NUGENIA. I expect particularly to develop more straight links between needs for enhancing safety and research and development programmes in relationship notably with other TSOs. Kadečka, Petr (ÚJV a.s., Czech Republic) Petr Kadečka graduated in Applied Mechanics from the Czech Technical University, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He has worked in Nuclear Research Institute Řež (presently ÚJV Řež, a. s.) since For 18 years he has worked as a Head of Structural and Lifetime Assessment Department. Within that time he was involved in and managed projects focused on plant life management, technical-economical studies of NPP long term operation and NPP design basis reconstitution. His current position in ÚJV Řež is the Business Development Manager and Integrity and Technical Engineering Division Executive Director. From January 2012 to NUGENIA Forum 2013 he was Chair of NUGENIA Executive Committee. An exceptional support and in kind contribution from his company enabled him to attend the necessary meetings and actively encourage NUGENIA activities. If I am re-elected to NUGENIA Executive Committee, I can fully rely on my company support. I expect to actively support fair project creation and labelling process as well as activities of particular NUGENIA technical areas.

7 NAPIER, Steve (National Nuclear Laboratory NNL, UK) Steve Napier (b 1958) is a Chemist who specialised in Radiochemistry and Radiometry in the 1980 s and is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Chartered Chemist. Steve joined BNFL in 1975 and NNL in 2000 was responsible for integrating a group of 350 former Magnox Electric and Harwell technical staff into the NNL. In 2002 became Head of Technology for the Berkeley, Harwell and the NNL Preston Fuels R&D capability. He has been a key member of the NNL transformation team and the operations management team during the re-engineering of the business in 2004/5 and again in Took up a position in Strategic Business Development in 2011 responsible for the NNL EU R&D and in 2014 joined the Science and Technology Directorate responsible for International Relations. Steve was a member of the Nuclear Safety Advisory Committee of the Health and Safety Commission (1992 to 2006) and is a member of the SNETP Governing Board, Chairman of the Executive Committee of NUGENIA and NUGENIA Technical Area 5 leader for Fuel, waste management and decommissioning, member of the FORATOM R&D Task Force. If I am re-elected to the NUGENIA Executive Committee I will continue to play an active role and build on the extensive work we have carried out developing the NUGENIA technical roadmap. We need to work hard to further develop and expand the project platform, support the realisation of R&D project ideas and generate enthusiasm from the end-user community for the NUGENIA vision supporting Generation II and III reactor safe, secure and efficient operation. I am currently the Technical Area leader for the Fuel, waste management and decommissioning area of the NUGENIA roadmap (TA5). The Technical Areas need to develop coherent R&D programmes supported by all partners of NUGENIA and in particular end users and funding bodies. PUSKA, Eija Karita (VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd) Dr Eija Karita Puska is Senior Principal Scientist at VTT. She works as project manager and contributor for domestic and foreign clients in nuclear power plant safety analysis and evaluation. She was the Coordinator of Euratom FP7 project NUGENIA-PLUS (NUGENIA+) project Preparing NUGENIA for HORIZON2020 (September September 2016). She has been director of the Finnish National Research programmes on Nuclear Power Plant Safety (SAFIR) from 2003 to 2010 and coordinator of VTT s innovation programme Safe and Sustainable Nuclear Energy from 2013 to She is VTT member at the Management Board of the SAFIR2018 programme. Dr Puska is a former President of the Finnish Nuclear Society ( ). Dr Puska has been working at VTT since 1978, for the first 8 years with fuel behaviour analyses and thereafter with various duties. Dr Puska has been involved in the development of the APROS simulation software from the beginning in 1986 and is still involved in the development, applications and management of the software. She has Doctoral degree from Helsinki University of Technology in 1999 with thesis on Nuclear reactor core modelling in multifunctional simulators and Licentiate (1987) and Master of Science in Technology (1979) degrees from the same university. My most important expected contribution to NUGENIA stems from my past experience with the NUGENIA-PLUS project and connections with the member organisations and researchers. As a member of the NUGENIA ExCom my duty is to serve the NUGENIA community via development, follow-up and evaluation of the project portfolio and co-operation with other international and national organisations. As a SNETP ExCom member my duty is to represent NUGENIA and its interest there and contribute to the enhanced ties of these two organisations.

8 SZAVAI, Szabolcs (BZN Bay Zoltan Nonprofit Ltd for Applied Research, Hungary) Szabolcs Szávai (Sasha) is head of the Department of Structural Integrity and Production Technologies at BZN. He has got MSc (1995) and later PhD (2012) in Mechanical Engineering, BSc in Economist (1999). After his graduation as MSc Engineer he has started his research work at the University of Miskolc. Meanwhile form 1997 to 1999 for 1.5 years he was a research student supported by Monbusho Scholarship in field of establishment of adaptive p-version FEM model for TEHD examination of rolling-sliding contacts at Okayama University, Department of Machine Design and Tribology, Japan. He was employed by BZN as co-worker in field of structural integrity in Since 2008 he has been working as the head of department. Beside his research at BZN he had got 10 years experiences in higher education and university research. From 2015 he is associate professor at University of Miskolc. As for his professional activity, he has been dealing with numerical modelling, tribology, applied fracture mechanics, structural integrity and fitness for service analysis in several national and international R&D and industrial projects since He took part in the engineering work carried out within life time extension project of Paks NPP leading the structural analysis group at BZN. Since then he has been continuously involved in several projects in the frame of the ageing management program of Paks NPP. He has extensive experience in managing R&D projects at national level. He also has been involved in several European research projects (NATO SfP, FITNET- TN, ADIMEW, Perfect, Style, Multimetal, Elixir, NESC VI-VII, Nugenia+MAPAID) in the scientific activity, as well as in the project co-ordination. He has more than 180 scientific publications. In case of my election to be a member of NUGENIA Executive Committee I would like to support establishment links to non-nuclear industry and research institutes and strengthen the collaboration with other European organisations in field of the related technical areas of NUGENIA. Increase the knowledge exchange with them. I would like to help the community to generate projects with partners out of NUGENIA and try to find sources for their projects out of EURATOM program.
