Habitat loss, among others, is a key factor is the decline. We need to learn about the monarch butterfly to understand how to restore habitat effectively. Here, you will learn about the monarch butterfly migration and life cycle by looking at live caterpillars and butterflies. Additionally, you will get a glimpse into the research the presenter conducts to learn about how monarch butterflies fly through Iowa. See how 3D scanners are used for prototyping new parts, measurement and evaluating the wear of the part in 3 dimension. Each student in this session will have opportunity to use the 3D scanner on Vermeer parts. Learn the basic process of mobile application design. We'll discuss how to translate features into a user interface, explore how to prototype our ideas, and practice testing our paper prototypes with others. Learn how physics can be applied to technology to make it faster! This session will introduce fundamental concepts of quantum computing, which uses subatomic physics to overcome the limits of current computer speeds. Come participate in a hands-on activity related to this topic: learn and practice writing numbers in binary and learn what a quantum state is and what it means for it to be entangled.
