2 TOOLS & MATERIALS LIST: 1. Flat clean surface 2. Pasta machine 3. Stiff blade 4. Lightbulb (any, mine is 2.5") 5. Round cutter aprox. the same size of your lightbulb and 2 smaller ones (mine are just over 2.5", 2 ¼" and 2") 6. Round Kemper cutter for the window opening (mine is ¾") 7. Smallest round Kemper cutter and one which is 2 sizes up (optional) 8. Sheet of coarse sanding paper 9. Sheet of sanding paper for texturing 10. Sheet of sanding paper 600 or Scalpel (optional) 12. Thin black permanent pigment marker ( ) 13. Black permanent pigment marker with wide tip (optional) 14. A charm 15. Super glue gel 16. Piercing tool/knitting needle 17. Varnish and a brush (I'm using fimo gloss varnish) 18. Cording of your choice (my pendant is on a cable cord) Clay: FIMO Classic or other strong clay - ½ oz of white oz of black

3 Part One: Making a Dome So let's begin! Smaller or larger, the choice is yours! Choose a size of your lightbulb and your cutters and roll out a sheet (approx. ½ oz) thru the thickest setting of your pasta machine. I'm using large lightbulb (2.5"), a cutter just over 2.5" and a small Kemper cutter ¾". Cut out a circle with your large cutter.

4 Now we're going to put it on the top of our lightbulb. Turn it over to check if you've centered it properly. Use the ball of your thumb to smooth the edges.

5 Use your Kemper cutter to cut out window opening. Bake it for 30 minutes. Cover your baking tray with aluminum foil to protect your white clay. Once it's cooled down, it's time for sanding.

6 Coarse sand paper for the dome edges, fine for the top. Use circular motions until your edges are all even. Like this Sand the dome top with fine sand paper. Here are the sandpaper numbers I've used: 80 for the edges and 600 for the dome top.

7 Use a scalpel or a blade to peel off the excess at the window opening. Part Two: Decorating our Dome Top Once we have our dome prepared, it's time to decorate it with permanent pigment markers. I use: Rotring, Staedtler, Geo, Faber Castel Get your marker and a sheet of paper. And your dome, of course. Divide your dome into sections and copy the shape and size of one section on the piece of paper.

8 My first section: spider's web. Lines, "u" connectors & dots. Doodle on a paper first to practice a bit and to see what it's going to look like on a dome. Here I've added a column of black and white strips alternating. And I'm preparing my next section, tangles.

9 Draw your lines, each one being 'behind' previous ones. Paint the blank parts black. Add third section: spirals, circles and dots.

10 Add fourth section, having in mind it has to be darker than your first and third one. Darken a bit, if needed, adding new elements. Color your window opening with black permanent marker.

11 Bake your dome for 10 minutes to set the ink. Keep it on your lightbulb and cover your baking tray with aluminum foil. Part Three: Building Your Pendant Base Condition 1 oz of black clay, roll it thru the thickest setting of your pasta machine, cut it in half. Texture one side of your first, back sheet... and cut the other one, the channel one, in half, like shown.

12 Put the channel one on top of the first one. Roll medium/thin sheet of black and texture it. Cut the circle and......put it on your channel sheet, having in mind it has to be positioned right under your dome.

13 Put the dome on the top to check what it's going to look like in the end. Choose a charm to put inside. Mark the center of your charm position within the circle and take the dome off. Get a cutter a little bit smaller than the dome to cut the base.

14 Take your base off the sand paper and cut out your pendant base. Put the charm on marked position, check if it's centered. Push the charm in the clay. Put some liquid polymer around the edges of your pendant base and put the dome on the top.

15 Check the back and bake for 30 minutes. Once it's baked and cool, use a brush to put some varnish on - if your varnish needs to be baked. If it shouldn't, skip this step. Now we'll need: - long strip of black, rolled thru the thickest setting and textured - sand paper you already used to texture the back - liquid polymer - piercing tool or knitting needle - blade

16 Smear some liquid clay around the edge. Start wrapping. Try not to touch the top of the dome. Pierce the holes after you cover them, using piercing tool or long knitting needle.

17 Make sure your holes are done properly. Trim the edge. Blend the edge with the back, using sand paper. Repeat last two steps until you...

18 ...achieve perfect blend of the edge and the back. Trim the upper part of the edge, if needed. Inspect the holes. Roll a small sheet of black thru the middle/fine setting of your pasta machine and texture it with the sand paper.

19 Cut the reinforcers using your Kemper cutters. Use your fingers to make the shape of reinforcers more oval in order to fit around the holes. Ears are on!

20 Sign your piece if you like. Put it to bake one last time for 30 minutes. Take the charm out, put some super glue gel on it and put the charm back. If you haven't protected your piece with varnish so far, do it now. Choose any cording you like.
