2 LIST OF tools: pasta machine blade roller shape template akto knife texturing sponge (clay-yo middle one or similar) curved baking base rubber stamps small brush soft brush ruler 2 sets of pliers hand drill jump ring (aprox. 0,8mm) oven & materials: white polymer clay 1oz black polymer clay 1 oz baby wipes kitchen towel sanding sponge/nail file stazon permanent black ink make up sponge chalk inks glue on bail super glue Genesis thick medium renaissance wax necklace Assistance: a cat (optional)

3 Condition and roll half pack of white Thickness should be the thickest or the second thickest setting on your pasta machine. Take a template you'll be using.

4 Press the template down over clay and cut out your bead. Cut out smaller one as well. Put your beads on curved object and bake for 30 minutes.

5 Once they're baked, let them cool and then take the nail file (grit 100/180) and do some sanding all over. Once our pieces are smooth, we can shift to shading. Choose your chalk inks.

6 Apply base color/s. Apply your second layer by dabbing from edge towards centre.

7 If you want, apply third layer. Use a make up sponge to take the excess off... If the ink is a brand new one, carefully dab just the edge and blend with a make-up sponge.

8 Like this. Go a bit darker if you like. Put your beads into the oven for some minutes to fix the color.

9 Once the color is fixed and our beads have cooled down, we'll apply a background image. Dab the stamp part you wish to use with white chalk ink. Carefully place the bead on top of the stamp.

10 Press all over. Carefully lift the bead the way I did here, away from the stamp. You can leave it to dry or stick it in the oven for some 10 minutes to dry it faster.

11 Wipe the stamp clean using baby wipes. Once you've chosen your main stamps, stamp them on a piece of paper first in order to see what they're going to look like in the end and to test the ink and print. Take your shape template and put it over it to roughly check the final look. Apply the ink on your stamp by dabbing the stamp.

12 Carefully place your bead over the stamp.. and press it down. All over, like I'm doing it here.

13 When you're sure it's done, carefully lift the bead, same way as you did before with the background stamp underneath. Voila! One image is done, one more to go. Ink the stamp of your second image.

14 Lift your bead marking the edge of your first image using your fingers and press the bead down on the stamp. For the smaller bead, I will use the same backround stamp I used on the bigger bead for background image, but on this bead, we'll use it with black StazOn, as our main image.

15 Ink the part you wish to use with StazOn and place the bead over it. Done.

16 Wipe your stamp with baby wipes right away and wash it properly a bit later. Put your beads on that flask again and stick it in the oven for 15 minutes. Once the ink has set and the beads are cool, we'll superglue the bail on the back of our bigger bead.

17 Use a ruler to determine the centre of your bead.. apply some glue on the back of your bail and press it down. Leave it to dry properly.

18 Condition a sheet of black clay, roll it thru the third thickest setting and texture one side. Like I did it here. Cut the sheet in two, one side for each bead.

19 Smear the Genesis medium over the back, including the flat part of the bail, as well as the edge of the bead. Impress the bail in your clay. Cut that part out.

20 So we have the opening for our bail. Slide the clay over your bail. Cut the excess like I did it here.

21 Holding your bead on a texture sheet, push the air out, fold the bottom part and trim the excess. Now fold the clay over the top part of your bead. Trim the excess.

22 Check the back, especially around the bail. Go over the back of your bead one more time. Trim again.

23 If you like, embelish that raised part around the bail and stamp the back. Do the same with the smaller bead. Apply Genesis, cut the excess coat the bead

24 trim and our beads are ready to be baked! Place them on the other side of the flask to keep the curve and bake for 40 minutes!

25 Once the beads are baked and cool, if your images require some enhancing, this is the way to do it Grab a thin permanent marker. Dot where needed.

26 Once you're done, stick your bead back into the oven for additional minutes to set the ink. Once your bead is completely cool, take Renaissance wax and brush it over the top. Take a piece of paper kitchen towel and LIGHTLY wipe the excess of after some 2 minutes.

27 Don't rub. And we are ready for some drilling! First you drill the hole from one side

28 then you go from the back, as well. As you can see, the smaller bead is done, now I need to drill the large one. Determine the bead centre

29 .. and drill. Apart from jump ring, you'll also need two sets of pliers to open a jump ring. Use one set to hold the jump ring and the other set to open it. Always open a jump ring pushing it forwards or backwards, never try to widen it in the centre. Close it the same way.

30 The last thing to do is finding the right necklace. I'm using 3 mm rubber cord but since the bail hole is too small for the jump ring bit to go thru, I'll take off the jump ring put the necklace thru the bail and then reattach the jumpring with the extender chain.
