2 READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO ASSEMBLE THE FEED BUNK. Thank you for purchasing this Brute feed bunk. When properly assembled and maintained, this product will provide years of reliable service. These instructions include helpful hints and important information needed to safely assemble and properly maintain the product. Please read these instructions before you begin. If you have any questions during the assembly, contact Customer Service at for assistance. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Wear eye protection. Wear gloves when handling metal tubes. Use a portable GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) when working with power tools and cords. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE Following the instructions as presented will help ensure the proper assembly of your feed bunk. The steps outlining the assembly process are as follows: Verify that all parts are included in the shipment. Notify Customer Service for questions or concerns. Read these instructions and all additional documentation included with the shipment before you begin. Gather the tools and assistants needed to assemble the product. Assemble the components in the order they are presented in these instructions. Assemble the frame. Install and secure the PolyMax. Read the care and maintenance information. Complete and return all warranty information as instructed. REQUIRED TOOLS The following list identifies the main tools needed to assemble the feed bunk. Additional tools may be needed. Tape measure or measuring device Marker Variable speed drill and impact driver (cordless with extra batteries works best) Hammers, gloves, and eye protection Metal-cutting saw Tin snips UNPACK AND IDENTIFY PARTS The following steps will ensure that you have all the necessary parts before you begin to assemble the feed bunk Unpack the contents of the shipment and place where you can easily inventory the parts. Refer to the Bill of Materials/Spec Sheets and this assembly guide. Verify that all parts listed on the Bill of Materials/Spec Sheets are present. If anything is missing or you have questions, consult the Pictorial Parts Guide and all diagrams throughout these instructions for clarification, or contact Customer Service. NOTE: At this time, you do not need to open the plastic bags containing the fasteners (if used). CARE AND MAINTENANCE Proper care and maintenance of your feed bunk is important. Check the following items periodically to properly maintain your feed bunk. Check connections and all fasteners to verify that they remain tight. Do not climb or stand on the feed bunk at anytime. Replace all worn or damaged parts promptly. If the feed bunk is moved, inspect all parts and connections before reassembling and use. For replacement or missing parts, call for assistance. 2

4 1 Before assembling the feed bunk, layout and measure the 1.5" x1.5" square tube lengths to verify that you have all the correct tubes. Gather two (2) 96" tubes and two (2) 16" tubes. Assemble as shown below using corner brackets and Tek screws. IMPORTANT: The 96" tubes will span the entire length of the feed bunk. 5 2 Gather four (4) 9" tubes. Attach to the corner brackets as shown below. MINI BRUTE FEED BUNKS ATTENTION: Install Tek screws in these locations. One on each side of corner 3 Gather two (2) 96" tubes and two (2) 16" tubes. Assemble as shown below using corner brackets and Tek screws. IMPORTANT: The 96" tubes will span the entire length of the feed bunk. When attaching the corner brackets to tube lengths, verify that the 96" tubes slide completely into the corner. NOTE: See steps 1 and 2 for Tek screw locations 5

6 4 Gather the two (2) PolyMax end panels and place one at each end on the inside of the frame. Align a 15" length of aluminum strap across the top of the end segment. Using Tek screws, secure the aluminum strap and end panel to the top tube as shown below. Secure the other sides of the end panel with Tek screws as shown in the diagram below. Repeat for the other end panel. Aluminum strap End segments will have a 2" x 2" notch cut out of each corner to fit around the square tubes. 7 5 Gather MINI BRUTE FEED BUNKS two (2) one-way plates (#104624) and one (1) 92" length of square tube. Slide a plate onto each end of the tube. Do not attach yet. Slide the assembled piece into the center of the frame as shown below. Verify that the plates are over the end panels and secure to the bottom tube with Tek screws. Secure each one-way plate to the 92" tube using Tek screws positioned on each side of the one-way plate. Tek screws Tek screw 92" Tube 7

8 6 Place the 32" x 93" length of PolyMax lining inside the bunk frame. Using a 92 1/2" length of aluminum strap, secure one side edge of the PolyMax along the top tube on the inside using Tek screws spaced at 12". Fold the other PolyMax edge up along the other side of the bunk frame. Repeat the previous step to secure the other side with aluminum strap and Tek screws. PolyMax lining Aluminum strap Tek screws NOTE: Lining will form a "U" shape at the bottom of the feed bunk. NOTE: PolyMax is shipped ready to install. PolyMax will expand or contract depending on temperature. If the bunk is assembled during cool or cold conditions, center the PolyMax lining in the frame and secure as instructed. This allows expansion in both directions when temperature increases. 8
