LOCATION YOU MUST READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO ASSEMBLE THE GREENHOUSE. Thank you for purchasing this Backyard Hobby Greenhouse. This instruction manual includes helpful hints and important information needed to safely assemble and properly maintain the greenhouse. Please read these instructions before you begin. If you have any questions during the assembly, contact Customer Service at for assistance. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Wear eye protection. Wear gloves when handling panels and frame parts. Use a portable GFCI when working with power tools and cords. Do not climb on the greenhouse or framing during or after construction. Do not occupy the greenhouse during high winds, tornadoes, or hurricanes. Provide adequate ventilation if the structure is enclosed. Do not store hazardous materials in the greenhouse without proper ventilation. Provide proper ingress and egress to prevent entrapment. ANCHORING INSTRUCTIONS Choosing the proper location is an important step before you begin to assemble the greenhouse. The following suggestions and precautions will help you determine whether your selected location is the best location. Never erect the greenhouse under power lines. Identify whether underground cables and pipes are present before preparing the site or anchoring the greenhouse. Location should be away from structures that could cause snow to drift on or around the greenhouse. Do not position the greenhouse in a place where large loads such as snow and ice, large tree branches, or other overhead obstacles could fall. SITE After choosing a location, proper preparation of the site is essential. The following site characteristics will help ensure the integrity of the greenhouse. The site must be level to properly and safely erect and anchor the structure. Drainage: Water draining off the structure and from areas surrounding the site should drain away from the site to prevent damage to the site, the structure, and contents of the structure. WARNING: The individuals assembling this structure are responsible for designing and furnishing all temporary bracing, shoring and support needed during the assembly process. For safety reasons, those who are not familiar with recognized construction methods and techniques must seek the help of a qualified contractor. Prior to assembling this greenhouse, please read the anchoring instructions within the pages of this packet. WARNING: You must anchor the greenhouse frame and base to the site. Improper anchoring can cause greenhouse instability and failure of the structure to perform as designed. Failing to anchor the greenhouse properly will void the manufacturer's warranty and may cause serious injury and damage. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE Following the instructions as presented will help ensure the proper assembly of your greenhouse. Failing to follow these steps can result in an improperly assembled and anchored greenhouse. The steps outlining the assembly process are as follows: 1 of 52

1. Verify that all parts are included in the shipment. Notify Customer Service for questions or concerns. 2. Read these instructions and all additional documentation included with the shipment before you begin assembling the greenhouse. Disregard any part and component documentation shipped inside the boxes. Use these instructions and the Spec Sheets (if supplied) when assembling the greenhouse. 3. Gather the tools, bracing, ladders (and lifts if applicable), and assistance needed to assemble the greenhouse. 4. Re-evaluate the location and site based on the information and precautions presented in the documentation included with the shipment. 5. Lay out the site (if this has not been completed). 6. Assemble the base frame and greenhouse components in the order they are presented in these instructions. 7. Anchor the greenhouse as instructed. GREENHOUSE PARTS All greenhouse sections (e.g., roof, sides, end walls, etc.) are shipped unassembled in individually numbered packages. The easiest way to keep them identified is to keep the packages in the accompanied box they came in. The boxes are labeled on the outside as to what section of greenhouse is inside. To prevent mixing the parts while assembling the greenhouse, select the package as instructed and unwrap that package only and assemble its contents. DO NOT OPEN MORE THAN ONE PACKAGE AT A TIME. IMPORTANT: Some photos and diagrams throughout these instructions may show a greenhouse with slightly different dimensions or color. The assembly procedures are identical regardless of these differences. Continue with the assembly of your greenhouse. 8. Read the Greenhouse Care and Maintenance information at the end of these instructions. REQUIRED TOOLS The following list identifies the main tools needed to assemble the greenhouse. Additional tools and supports may be needed depending on the structure, location, and application. Tape measures or measuring devices Marker to mark locations on the frame or site. Variable speed drill (cordless with extra batteries works best) and sockets Hammers and gloves Adjustable pliers and wrench (or ratchet) Phillips Screwdriver Ladders and/or work platforms Caulk gun for silicone application 2 of 52

ATTENTION: If you plan to place the base on a concrete slab or patio, you must remove the "leg" portion of the frame support posts. Before you assemble the base as shown below, cut the frame support posts so they are the same length as the base channel is wide. BASE FRAME ASSEMBLY (Optional purchase) The base frame assembly provides a level, square surface on which to set the greenhouse frame. It is strongly recommended that you use this base. The optional base is anchored in place using ground posts or other approved anchoring methods described in these instructions. This base is an optional purchase. Contact your sales consultant at to purchase the base. The following steps describe how to assemble the optional base frame for the greenhouse. NOTE: The frame in the following instructions may differ from the actual frame in size and/or color. The assembly procedures are the same however.!!! Cut these only if you plan to place the frame, and ultimately the greenhouse, on a concrete slab. Important! Dashed line shows where to cut when removing the leg for use on concrete Leg portion of frame support post 4. Insert two bolts through the predrilled holes in the post and one base channel. CONSULT THE BASE DIAGRAM NEAR THE BACK OF THIS PACKET BEFORE YOU BEGIN. 1. Unpack the base kit to identify the parts. NOTE: The base is assembled upside down and then is flipped when it is positioned on the site. 2. Identify the base channel lengths used for the ends (width) and the sides (length). 3. Select the first frame support post and the required nuts and bolts and place these at one corner of the base. NOTE: Do not tighten the bolts at this time. 5. Select the remaining bolts and repeat the previous step to attach the remaining base channel to the support post. Support Post 3 of 52

6. Verify that the post is straight and tighten the bolts. 7. Repeat the procedure to attach the remaining support posts to the base channels. NOTE: This base and greenhouse require a level site. Before setting the base or greenhouse frame (or both) in place, you must level the site. The easiest way to square the base is to measure diagonally from corner to corner. Complete these steps: NOTE: The following procedure describes how to square the base on a prepared site and drive the base support posts into the ground. 1. Position the assembled base on the site as shown in Step 8 (left). 2. Measure diagonally from corner-to-corner. Dotted line shows an optional location for the support post depending on the site. 8. After the frame is assembled and all bolts are tight, flip the base over and set it on the site. Insert shows how the support post is attached to the base channel. 9. Continue with the next procedure. SQUARE THE BASE Before the support posts of the base are driven into the ground and before the assembled greenhouse frame is set on and secured to the base, you must square the base assembly and anchor the base to the site. ATTENTION: If you are setting the base and greenhouse on a patio or concrete slab, set the assembled base on site and continue with the greenhouse assembly procedures that follow. NOTE: The greenhouse base is square when both measurements are the same. Dashed line shows the structure that the greenhouse is attached to. 3. When the frame is square, tap the support posts into the ground to set the frame in place and recheck the measurements. NOTE: Place a block of wood on top of the base channel and support post and hammer on the wood to protect the frame when driving the posts into place. 4. Continue to drive the posts to the desired depth. NOTE: Use a level (or string a line) to verify that the base remains level when set into the ground 5. After setting the base on the site, continue with the greenhouse assembly. Do not square the base at this time. 4 of 52

Complete the following steps to assemble the first end wall frame. Consult the End Wall Diagrams near the back of these instructions before you begin. ASSEMBLE THE END WALL FRAMES The greenhouse has two end walls: one with a door and one without a door. The end walls are packaged separately. Each package includes all the parts required for that end wall. 1. Open Package #1. This package includes the parts to assemble the end wall frame where the door is installed. Consult the End Wall Diagrams for part identification. 2. Locate the top bracket used to join the upper support to long, lower support at the peak of the end wall (shown below). For the best results and to prevent mixing parts, assemble each end wall separately as described below. NOTE: All bolt tracks in the frame members are installed to the inside of the greenhouse. All diagrams and individual photos shown in these end wall instructions show the inside surface of the frame unless otherwise noted. Top Bracket Bolt Track 3. Locate the two supports for the end wall. Upper Support Long, lower support Photo shows vertical frame member for end walls. The bolt track is installed to the inside of the greenhouse. IMPORTANT: To prevent loosing parts, assemble all frame components on a flat surface. A concrete driveway or a garage floor works best. As you assemble the frame sections, the inside of the frame will face up as shown in the photos that follow. The upper support includes predrilled holes and a beveled edge. The long, lower support is attached to the upper support by the top bracket. The long, lower support is the support at the back of the greenhouse and is used to attach the greenhouse to another structure. 5 of 52

4. With the bracket to the inside of the building, secure bracket to the upper support and the long, lower support. NOTE: Longer, square-headed bolts are used on the structure where a bolt connects three frame components such as a diagonal strut and a bracket. Consult the frame diagrams at the back of these instructions for strut placements. Larger Bolts View shows the supports as seen from the inside of the greenhouse. 5. Locate the remaining angled bracket and attach it to the end of the upper support. Pictures may be of a similar but different model. Slide bolts into the track as shown. Lower Support Upper Support Upper Support Predrilled holes ATTENTION: Some upper supports may include a bolt track instead of the pre-drilled holes as shown in the photo. If so, slide bolts into the track and attach bracket. Lower Support 6. Select the short, lower support, slide two bolts into the bolt track, and attach the lower support to the angled bracket as shown. See next photo. Insert bolts through drilled holes. REMINDER: Brackets are installed on the inside of the shelter. 6 of 52

7. Locate the first diagonal strut and attach one end to the lower bolt as shown. Diagonal Strut Vertical Support Consult the End Frame Diagram for clarification. NOTE: Do not tighten the two bolts that secure the lower support to the angled bracket at this time. The diagonal strut must be allowed to move to align it with the base rail of the end wall frame in a later step. To this point the end frame should resemble the components identified by the dashed lines in the photo below. These bolts are used to attach the vertical supports to the upper support and the base rail. The remaining bolts are used to secure brackets and the horizontal braces of the end frame. See the End Frame Diagram for clarification. 9. Select the upper door frame, bracket, and shorter door support (see arrows below). Insert the top bolt of the door support through the predrilled hole in the upper support. Insert four (4) bolts into track of door frame header. Bracket fits over two (2) bolts of header and bolt in upper support. Secure as shown below. Upper Support 8. Locate the two vertical supports (marked with an X above) that run between the upper support and the base rail and insert seven (7) bolts into the track of the long, vertical support, and (3) bolts into the track of the short vertical support. Upper Door Frame Bracket Inside view is shown. Short, Vertical Support 7 of 52

10. Select the long vertical support and the two brackets shown below. Insert the top bolt of the door support through the predrilled hole in the upper support. The following three bolts are inserted into the predrilled holes of the large bracket, positioning the angle of the bracket along edge of upper support. To this point the end frame should resemble the components identified by the dashed lines in the photo. Brackets The dashed line shows the edge of the upper support. 12. With the upper door frame in place, locate a remaining bolt in the bolt track of the short vertical support and attach one horizontal brace to the bolt. Door Support 11. Select the next bolt in the long vertical support and insert the bolt into the predrilled hole of the smaller rectangular bracket. Select the remaining two (2) bolts on the door header and insert these into the remaining predrilled holes of the bracket. Bracket should be aligned with edge of previous bracket. Bolt Horizontal Brace Do not tighten the bolt at this time. 13. Move to the angled bracket that is closest to and parallel with the vertical support and attach the horizontal brace using the bolt as shown. Upper Support The dashed line shows the edge of large bracket. Diagonal Strut 8 of 52

14. Repeat Step 12 to attach the remaining horizontal brace to the other vertical support. The opposite side of the horizontal brace will be attached to a square headed bolt inserted into the track of the long, lower support. 15. Attach the remaining diagonal strut. Vertical support End Wall Frame Base Rail Vertical Support Diagonal Strut All end wall frame members are attached except for the base rail. (See Below) NOTE: The slot used to attach the base rail to the lower support is positioned to the inside of the greenhouse. The view above is an end view of the base rail. 17. With the base rail in position, insert the bolt of one door supports through the predrilled hole in the base rail and hold the bolt in place. Do not install the nut on the bolt at this time. Vertical Support To the top of the end wall frame Position the base rail here. 16. With the end wall assembled as shown above, locate the base rail, which is the last section of the end wall to attach, and position it at the ends of the lower supports and vertical supports. Base Rail 9 of 52

18. Take the free end of the diagonal strut and insert the bolt of the door support through the predrilled hole in the diagonal strut and install the nut. 19. With the support tight against the top of the base rail, tighten the nut and repeat the steps to attach the remaining door support and diagonal strut to the end wall base rail. 20. After attaching both struts and door supports to the base rail, move to one end of the base rail and attach the lower end of the vertical support. ATTENTION: Verify that the bottom of the door support is tightly seated against the top of the base rail before you tighten the bolt and nut. 21. Verify that the vertical support is seated flush with the top of the base rail and tighten the bolt. Flush to the top of the base rail 22. Repeat the steps to attach the base rail to the remaining lower support. View is from the outside of the greenhouse looking at the top of the base rail where the door support is attached. NOTE: Verify that the horizontal braces are parallel to the base rail. Use a carpenter's square to verify that the assembled frame is square before tightening all bolts. 10 of 52

If it appears that the assembled end frame is in a bind or is twisted, loosen a few of the bolts in the angled brackets or vertical supports and allow the frame to settle and shape itself. Retighten the bolts as needed. 23. Repeat the procedure to assemble the remaining end wall. ATTENTION: The remaining end wall frame does not include an upper door frame member. In addition, the small horizontal braces of the first end wall frame have been replaced by a single, longer horizontal brace. Keep these changes in mind as you complete the assembly of the remaining end wall frame. Consult the End Frame Diagram: No Door when assembling the frame if needed. 24. After assembling the last end wall frame, continue with the Sidewall Assembly procedure that follows. Space below is reserved for customer notes. 11 of 52

Sidewall Assembly After both end wall frames are assembled, locate the box labeled sidewall. Remove the plastic and assemble its contents as described below. ATTENTION: Consult the Sidewall Frame Diagram for a description of parts. All vertical supports are installed with the bolt track to the inside of the greenhouse. Consult the EXPLODED FRAME COMPONENTS diagram near the back of these instructions for important information before you continue. Complete these steps: 1. Unpack the parts for the sidewall and position them on a flat surface for assembly. The gutter rail is placed at the top of the sidewall and the base rail is positioned at the bottom of the sidewall. Additionally, greenhouse # and # have one or two vertical supports that include two (2) bolt tracks (14). If your greenhouse is equipped with this type of vertical support, bolts for the sidewall assembly are placed in the track that does not include a slot next to it. See the photo below. Use the Sidewall Frame Diagram and place the vertical supports and diagonal struts in their final positions. 3. Attach each vertical support to the gutter rail by inserting the bolt through the predrilled hole in the gutter rail. Do not tighten at this time. ATTENTION ( and ): For the main support sidewall track (14) with two bolt tracks, the gutter rail (and base rail) will seat into the slot of the support. Insert the bolt through the predrilled hole. Do not tighten. 14 Slot is next to bolt track identified by an X. Gutter Rail Photo shows the main support sidewall track (14) with the base rail seated into its slot. Top of the support is attached to the gutter rail in a similar fashion. NOTE: The slotted hole at each end of the gutter rail is used to attach the end wall frame assembly to the sidewall. Do not attach the vertical supports using the slotted holes in the gutter rail. For the vertical supports with struts, place a diagonal strut on the bolt and install the nut. Do not tighten the nuts at this time. Photo shows the gutter rail as seen from the outside of the sidewall assembly. The dashed line shows where the end wall frame assembly is attached. 2. Select the vertical supports for the sidewall and slide two bolts into the bolt track of each support. NOTE: One bolt is used to attach the vertical support to the gutter rail and the other is used to attach the support to the base rail. For some vertical supports of the sidewall, the bolts are also used to attach the diagonal strut to the frame. The longer, square-headed bolts are used where diagonal struts are attached. The photo above shows the vertical support and diagonal strut as attached to the gutter rail of the sidewall. View shows the inside surface of the frame. 12 of 52

4. Insert the remaining bolts, located in the bolt tracks of the vertical supports, into the corresponding predrilled holes of the base rail. (The supports with two bolt slots are attached in the same fashion as the gutter rail.) Remember to attach diagonals where applicable. Gutter Rail Space below is reserved for customer notes. NOTE: Pictures may not reflect actual length. Consult the diagrams near the end of these documents for each length layout. 5. If there are remaining ends of diagonal struts, attach to the gutter rail as pointed out below. 6. Once all vertical supports are attached to the gutter rail and the base rail, tighten all bolts. 7. After the final sidewall is assembled, continue with the frame assembly procedure that follows. 13 of 52

3. At the top of the end wall vertical support, slide a bolt into the bolt track. FRAME ASSEMBLY After assembling both end frames and sidewall frame, the assemblies are attached to each other to construct the greenhouse frame. NOTE: A small piece of tape can be used to keep the bolt near the top of the bolt track if desired. Place the tape in the same position as the finger in the photo that follows to keep the bolt from sliding down the track. NOTE: The greenhouse frame must be assembled on a clean, flat surface such as a driveway or patio. An uneven surface will not allow the sides and ends to join properly. In many instances, the greenhouse frame can be moved to the site after it is assembled. Complete the following steps. 1. Position the assembled frame sections as shown below. 4. Once the bolt is in the track, seat the gutter rail of the sidewall into the corner of the end wall frame as shown. Picture (above and below) may show a greenhouse frame of a different length. All inside surfaces are facing up in the above photo. 2. Lift the first end wall and sidewall frames into position. Dashed line identifies the outline of the frame. View is from the outside of the greenhouse frame and shows the gutter rail as seated into the corner. 14 of 52

NOTE: If you are unable to seat the gutter rail completely into the end wall frame as shown on previous page, loosen the angle bracket bolts. This will allow the frame components to move when the rail is seated in position. See the following photo. 6. Place a bolt into the end wall upper support bolt track and slide it down to the gutter rail of the sidewall. Peak Angle Bracket Bolts 5. After seating the gutter rail in position, retighten the angle bracket bolts (if needed) and slide the bolt shown in the next photo into position and tighten. Above photo shows sliding the bolt into the track at the peak of the end wall frame where the upper support connects to the top bracket. 7. With the bolt in place, add a nut and tighten all bolts in the location shown below. If a strut needs to be attached, detach the horizontal brace of the end wall frame if needed. After the strut and bolt are secured, reattach the horizontal brace. Horizontal Brace Strut 8. Move to the lower corner of the two assembled frame sections the end and sidewall. See the following photo. ATTENTION: The angles of the diagonal struts can vary. If a diagonal strut is present, remove the bolt from the sidewall strut, slide the bolt into the bolt track of the end frame lower support, and attach the diagonal strut to the bolt. 15 of 52

If there is no strut, simply slide a bolt onto the track and seat it into the slot of the base rail. greenhouse to complete the assembly of the greenhouse lower frame. End Frame: Base Rail Photo above shows the corner as seen from the inside of the greenhouse frame assembly. Photo shows the corner of the greenhouse as seen from the outside. End Wall Lower Support Sidewall Diagonal Strut Picture may be of a different length model. Dashed lines help to show the assembled frame. To this point, the gutter rail is secured to the end wall frame assemblies and all angle bracket bolts are tight. 13. Continue with installing the ridge cap of the roof. The space below is reserved for customer notes. Sidewall Base Rail End wall support is tight to the top of the sidewall base rail. 9. Verify that the end wall lower support is seated to the top of the sidewall base rail as shown above. 10. Tighten the bolt to secure the sidewall base rail to the end frame lower support. 11. Recheck all bolts to verify they are tight. 12. Repeat the procedure to connect the remaining gutter rail end to the end wall frame of the 16 of 52

REMEMBER: Photos show the inside of the greenhouse unless otherwise noted. All bolt tracks are positioned to the inside of the greenhouse. Consult the next photo for the correct position of the ridge cap. RIDGE CAP AND RAFTER INSTALLATION The ridge cap connects the two end wall frame assemblies at the peak. Because it is the main support of the roof framing, the ridge cap is installed before the roof rafters are installed. Ridge Cap Consult the EXPLODED FRAME COMPONENTS diagram near the back of these instructions for important information before you continue. Complete the following steps to install the ridge cap. 1. Choose a bolt and slide it into the bolt track of the upper support for one end wall. Consult the Roof Diagram at the back of these instructions to identify the location of the diagonal struts. Use the longer square headed bolts at these locations. NOTE: Bolts will slide to the bottom of the track. If desired, use a small piece of tape to keep them near the peak where they are needed. End Wall Upper Support View shows the ridge cap as seen from the outside looking at the end wall frame. Ridge Cap View shows the ridge cap as seen from the inside looking at the peak of the end wall frame. Bolts are slid into the pre-punched mounting slots in the ridge cap. 2. Locate roof parts and unwrap them. 3. Select the ridge cap this will be the longest frame member in the package and position it between the end wall frames at the peak. 4. Add a nut to the bolt installed in Step 1 and slide the bolt toward the peak and into the mounting slot of the ridge cap. 5. Verify that the ridge cap is seated properly and tighten the bolt. 17 of 52

6. Repeat the procedure to secure the remaining end of the ridge cap. 7. With the ridge cap in place, install the roof rafters. NOTE: The double track rafters are installed inline with the double bolt track vertical supports of the sidewall. These rafters are attached to the gutter rail and the ridge cap. The double track rafters are installed so they can be attached to the vertical supports as shown in the following photos. 2. Slide (6) six bolts in the open track of the double track rafter and (7) seven in the open track of the double bolt track vertical support. A piece of tape may be used to keep bolts from sliding out of the tracks. Upper Support Bracket Double Track Rafter (6) Bolts Picture may be of a different length model. Angled Bracket INSTALL THE ROOF RAFTERS All roof rafters are installed with the bolt tracks to the inside of the greenhouse. Longer greenhouses include rafters with double bolt tracks. Remember the following when attaching these rafters to the frame: For rafters with double bolt tracks, one track is used to attach the rafter to the ridge cap and the other is used to attach the main support to the double tracked sidewall support the rafter is aligned with. Rafters with double bolt tracks are installed in the same direction and in the same location as the sidewall double bolt track vertical supports. See the Roof and Sidewall Diagrams for support locations. Double Track Vertical (7) Bolts Small Support Bracket Horizontal Support Main Support The following steps describe how to install the roof rafters. NOTE: If your greenhouse includes main supports and rafters with double tracks (see the labeled photo in the next column), install these first. If these rafters and supports ARE NOT part of your greenhouse, begin with Step Move the double track rafters to the inside of the assembled greenhouse frame and locate the required bolts and nuts. Picture shows assembled double track rafter and main support. 3. Using two bolts on the rafter and two from the vertical, install the angled bracket. (Place one bolt into a pre-drilled hole on the bracket and loosely screw a nut onto the bolt. Repeat this process until all bolts are installed. Once all four are installed, tighten all nuts.) See the photo that follows. 18 of 52

5. Using four bolts in the double track vertical support (sidewall), install the lower support bracket to the vertical as shown in the following photo. Lower Support Bracket Angled Bracket Vertical Support Picture shows an attached angle bracket as seen from the inside of the greenhouse. (Photo is used for illustration only. It may be of a different greenhouse model.) Main Support 4. Using the remaining bolts on the double track rafter, attach the upper support bracket to the rafter. (This bracket is installed similarly to the angle bracket.) Do not tighten bolts at this time. Rafter Picture shows assembled small support bracket. (Dashed line above outlines the main support.) Do not tighten the bolts. 6. Attach the main support to the two support brackets by placing bolts in the pre-drilled holes in the support and brackets. Install and tighten the nuts. (See two previous photos for placement). 7. Once the support is attached, tighten all nuts and bolts to secure the brackets and main support. Upper Support Bracket 8. Using the remaining bolt on the double track vertical support, attach the horizontal support to the vertical support. (See the dotted line in the labeled photo on the previous page.) Do not tighten at this time to allow the horizontal support to freely move along vertical. Picture shows assembled upper support bracket. (At this point, do not install the main support bracket as shown above. This is installed later.) Do not tighten the bolts at this time. 9. Secure the remaining end of the horizontal support to the main support by inserting a bolt through the pre-drilled hole of main support. 10. Verify that the support is level and tighten the bolts. 19 of 52

11. Working from the front, move to the first rafter position on one side, slide one bolt into the bolt track, and attach the rafter to the gutter rail by inserting the bolt through the predrilled hole in the gutter rail. Do not tighten the bolt at this time. Rafter Gutter Rail 14. Following the Roof and Sidewall Diagram near the back of these instructions, locate the position of the roof diagonal struts. NOTE: Bolts and nuts on the ridge cap or gutter rail will need to be removed and reattached when installing the struts and if you need to insert additional bolts into the bolt track to attach the diagonal struts. 15. Where a diagonal strut crosses a rafter, slide one of the extra bolts on the rafter to the diagonal and place in the predrilled hole on the diagonal. Loosely screw a nut to the bolt. Once the diagonal strut is secured to each rafter, tighten the nuts and bolts. Remove and reattach with diagonal (Step 14) Vertical Support Sidewall View is from the inside of the greenhouse. NOTE: In addition to the mounting bolts, extra bolts need to be slid into the bolt track of the rafter for vents and diagonal struts. One (1) extra bolt is needed where a roof diagonal crosses a rafter. (See diagram at back for diagonal placements.) One (1) extra bolt per rafter is needed for the roof vent connection. (Vents can span two to three rafters. The builder determines placement.) Finally, one (1) bolt is needed for the ridge cap connection. Remove and reattach with diagonal (Step 12) Diagonal Strut 12. Slide the required additional bolts into the bolt track, attach the other end of the rafter to the ridge cap, and tighten both rafter-mounting bolts to secure the rafter to the frame. Ridge Cap Photo may show a different greenhouse model. Picture shows diagonal strut crossing several rafters. 16. After all rafters and diagonal struts are installed, install the end caps on the ends of the ridge cap. Install the end cap here on each end of the ridge cap. 13. Repeat Steps 11 and 12 for the remaining rafters as you work from front to back. 17. Assemble and install the roof vents. 20 of 52

ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL THE ROOF VENTS All parts for the vent frames are located in the box labeled for vents, which are assembled later in these instructions.) Compete these steps to assemble and install the roof vents. Top Hinge Rail NOTE: All photos show the vent frame with the inside facing up. When installed, the vent frame surface that is shown in the photos will be seen from inside the greenhouse. 1. Locate and open Package 7 to begin assembling the vent frames. 2. Arrange the parts as shown. See the Vent Frame Diagram for part identification if needed. 5. Using a carpenter's square (or other means), verify that the assembled vent frame is square, and tighten the bolts. Photo may show a vent of a different design or size. All vents are assembled and attached in the same manner. 3. Using the small Phillips head bolts and nuts, attach the bottom rail to the side rails. Do not tighten these at this time. 6. Remove the bolt from the pre-assembled vent support arm and attach the C-shaped mounting bracket to the bottom rail and reattach the support arm. Sample Vent 4. Next, attach the top hinge rail to the side rails using the Phillips head bolts. NOTE: The C-shaped mounting bracket is attached to the bottom rail with a small bolt and a self-locking nut. The bracket must be allowed to swivel on the bottom rail to ensure that the support arm functions as designed. 21 of 52

7. Once the vent frame is assembled, locate the rafter cross members. 8. Using the extra bolts in the bolt tracks of the first and second rafters, attach the cross member (dashed line below) between the two rafters. Do not tighten the bolts at this time. Photos show the end of the cross member and the bolt track which is installed to the inside of the greenhouse. (Sample Greenhouse) NOTE: The last "extra" bolt in the track of the second rafter must remain between the bolt used to secure the cross member and the bolt used to secure the rafter to the gutter rail at the top of the sidewall. NOTE: The rafter cross members are installed between the two rafters where the vent frame is installed. It functions as the lower support for the vent frame. See the X in the above photo. This bolt is used to attach the Z-bracket to the rafter. The Z-Bracket holds the vent support arm in place when the vent is closed. Photo below shows one end of the cross member where it is attached to the rafter. The bolt is on the underside of the rafter (which is to the inside of the greenhouse). Rafters Rafter To the Ridge Cap Vertical Support for Sidewall Gutter Rail The bolt track is install to the inside of the greenhouse and the notch is installed pointing to the peak. Cross Member View is from the outside of the greenhouse. 22 of 52

9. After attaching the cross member, take the assembled vent frame and insert one end of the top hinge rail into the channel of the ridge cap as shown in the photos that follow. 11. Once aligned, allow the vent frame to rest in the closed position between the rafters. 12. Slide the cross member up the two rafters until it touches the bottom rail of the assembled vent frame. See the arrows in the following photo. Ridge Cap Channel Rafter Bottom Rail of Vent Ridge Cap Top Hinge Rail of vent frame Cross Member Slide the Top Hinge Rail into the channel of the ridge cap as shown above and in the following photo. The side of the vent frame that was facing up during its assembly should now be facing to the inside of the greenhouse frame. Ridge Cap may be different design, but same concept is used. The double vents will span two (2) rafter sections. NOTE: Do not seat the cross member tight against the bottom rail of the vent frame. The frame will bind when attempting to open it. View is from the outside of the greenhouse. ATTENTION: You must flip the assembled vent frame over so that the rounded edge of the top hinge rail can be inserted into the channel of the ridge cap. 10. Continue to slide the vent frame into the channel until the vent frame is aligned between the two rafters where the cross member was installed. Cross Member View is from the inside of the greenhouse looking up at the installed vent frame and the cross member. 13. 25 14. Working from inside the greenhouse, close the vent and swivel the vent support arm down and toward the second rafter. NOTE: The polycarbonate panels for the vents can be installed with the vent frame attached to the greenhouse roof if desired. This procedure installs the polycarbonate panels with the assembled roof vents removed for easier accessibility. 17. Repeat the steps to assemble and install the remaining vent frame. 18. After all vents are assembled, installed, fitted in the frame, and removed, install the vent panels. INSTALL THE POLYCARBONATE VENT PANELS The steps below describe attaching the polycarbonate vent panels to the assembled vent frames. The panels are lettered for identification. NOTE: This will be the rafter where the remaining "extra" bolt is located. If no "extra '' bolt was installed, loosen the rafter at the gutter rail, slide a bolt into the bolt track, and retighten the rafter mounting bolt. 15. Slide the remaining bolt up to the support arm as shown and attach the Z-Bracket as shown below. The parts needed to complete the vent frame assembly include: Polycarbonate panels: Letter X Precut lengths of plastic U-strip profile Silicone NOTE: The plastic U-strips are precut and are as long as the polycarbonate panel is wide. You do not have to cut any plastic molding. If it appears as though the plastic molding is the incorrect length, search through the remaining molding until you locate the correct length and continue with this procedure. Complete these steps: ATTENTION: The polycarbonate panels must be installed with the UV-protected side to the outside of the greenhouse. If you remove the protective film before installing the panels, mark the panel in a lower corner so that the panel is installed correctly. 16. With the Z-Bracket attached, lift the support arm out of the bracket and remove the vent frame from the greenhouse to install the polycarbonate panel. 1. Locate the first Panel X and two lengths of the plastic U-strips for that panel. See the photos on the next page. 24 of 52

In the photo above, the protective film was not removed from the panel to better show the panel in the frame. 9. Repeat the above steps for the remaining vent panels. 10. After the silicone sets, reattach the vents to the assembled greenhouse frame (if they were removed to install the polycarbonate panels). 11. Read the Anchoring Instructions and information that follows and then continue with the door assembly procedures after you anchor the greenhouse frame. ANCHORING INSTRUCTIONS To prevent serious personal injury and property damage, you must anchor the assembled greenhouse frame before continuing. Failing to properly anchor the greenhouse frame will void all warranties. If you did not purchase one of our recommended anchoring systems and want to know more, contact your sales representative at Consult a professional and qualified contractor for anchoring suggestions if you have not decided how to anchor the greenhouse. Read the anchoring information that follows and anchor the assembled greenhouse frame. 26 of 52

Carriage Bolt ANCHOR THE GREENHOUSE The site and whether the optional base is used determine the recommended anchoring methods for the greenhouse. WARNING: You must anchor the greenhouse (and the base if used) to the site and before installing the panels. Failing to do so may result in property damage and personal injury. Base Channel Ground Post The information below identifies the recommended anchoring methods for your greenhouse. There are four basic scenarios when anchoring the greenhouse. Choose the one that matches your particular application. If none of the following anchoring suggestions is applicable to your greenhouse, you must seek the advice of a professional and qualified contract to anchor your greenhouse to the site. ATTENTION: Since different applications require different anchoring methods, you must contact your sales representative for the parts required to anchor the greenhouse and frame. Contact Customer Service at to purchase additional anchoring parts. Continue with the following anchoring information. Diagram above shows ground post driven to the top of the base channel on the outside of the base frame. Spacer placed between channel and ground post Carriage Bolt SCENARIO #1: Base Frame On Soil (or Gravel) Site Ground posts are used to anchor the optional base to the site before the assembled greenhouse frame is set on the base. 1. After squaring the base and driving the support posts into the ground see the Base Assembly instructions presented earlier in this packet, select the ground posts for the anchoring system. 2. Determine whether you want the ground posts on the inside or outside of the base assembly. NOTE: Ground posts are driven into the site near each corner of the assembled frame. You must order the ground posts. They are not included with the greenhouse. 3. Using the following diagrams, drive each ground post into the site flush with the top of the base channel. Base Channel Ground Post NOTE: When the ground post is on the inside of the base, use as spacer placed between the base channel and ground post to prevent crushing the channel when the bolts are tightened. 4. With the ground posts driven into place, use the holes in the ground post as a guide, drill a hole through the base channel, and attach the base to each ground post as shown in the previous diagrams. 27 of 52

5. With the base secured, set the assembled greenhouse frame on the anchored base. Photo shows holes for the anchor bolts as drilled in the bottom of the base frame. 6. Attach the greenhouse frame to the anchored base using self-tapping screws driven through the base rail and into the base channel. Greenhouse Base Rail Photo is used for illustration purposes only. The dashed line shows the lip of the base rail of the greenhouse. NOTE: Place screws evenly around the perimeter of the frame between each vertical support. 7. Continue with the greenhouse assembly procedures as instructed. 3. After all holes are drilled, flip the base frame and reposition it on the site. 4. Square the frame as previously described in the Base Assembly procedure. 5. Using the holes drilled in the base channel (Step 2) as guides, take a marker and mark the hole location on the concrete. 6. Remove the frame, drill the holes in the concrete using the proper bit, and install the anchor bolts in the concrete. 7. Reposition the base frame over the anchor bolts in the concrete and anchor the base to the site using the anchor bolts. 8. Anchor the assembled greenhouse frame to the base as shown in Step 6 of the previous anchoring instructions and continue with the greenhouse assembly procedures as instructed. SCENARIO #2: Base Frame On Concrete (Slab or Patio) Concrete anchor bolts are used to secure the base to the concrete slab before the assembled greenhouse frame is set on the base. 1. After the base is assembled and the frame support posts are cut to the proper length see the Base Frame Assembly instructions position the base on the site with the bottom edge of the base facing up. 2. Using a drill bit the same diameter as the concrete anchor bolts, drill holes through the edge of the base channel. NOTE: Use 24" spacing when drilling the holes. You must use concrete wedge anchors for this application. SCENARIO #3: No Base Frame: Greenhouse Is On Concrete Slab (or Patio) If the greenhouse frame is assembled and no base frame is used, the greenhouse is anchored to the concrete using anchor bolts as previously described. 1. Position the assembled greenhouse on the site and square the greenhouse using the technique described in the Base Assembly instructions presented earlier in this packet. 28 of 52

2. After squaring the assembled greenhouse frame, drill a hole through the base rail of the sidewall of the greenhouse frame and install a concrete anchor bolt. Drill holes in the center of the base rail base rail of the greenhouse frame and screwed into the wood. Use the diagrams below to anchor the greenhouse to a non-concrete site when the optional base frame is not used. Install lag screw through predrilled hole in greenhouse frame and into the treated-wood base. Lag Screw Greenhouse Frame NOTE: Holes for the anchor bolts are drilled through the base rail and into the concrete between each of the vertical supports. Photo above shows the greenhouse frame as seen from the outside of the greenhouse. 3. Move to the opposite side of the frame and repeat the previous step to anchor the frame to the site. 4. Continue by repeating the above steps until the greenhouse frame is anchored. Ground Post 5. After anchoring the greenhouse frame, continue with the greenhouse assembly instructions. SCENARIO #4: No Base Frame: Greenhouse Is On Soil (or Gravel) To anchor the assembled greenhouse frame to a nonconcrete site without the optional base frame, you must use a treated-wood base frame to set the greenhouse on. Ground posts are then driven into the ground on either the inside or outside of the treated-wood base frame. The wood frame is anchored to the ground posts using lag screws inserted through the ground post holes and screwed into the wood. Diagram shows lag screws installed through the ground post and into the 4" x 4" treated wood base frame. The dashed line shows where to install the lag screw when a 2" x 4" or 2" x 6" treated-wood frame is used. Diagram may not be to scale. NOTE: Only the top hole in the ground post is used when a 2" x 4" or 2" x 6" treated-wood base is used. In all instances for the wood base, the ground posts are driven flush to the top of the wood base as shown. After anchoring the treated-wood frame to the site and the greenhouse frame to the wood frame, continue with the greenhouse assembly instructions that follow. After securing the treated-wood frame to the ground posts, the assembled greenhouse frame is placed on the wood base, squared, and anchored to the wood base using lag screws inserted through predrilled holes in the 29 of 52

2. Slide the bolts into the bolt track of the door cross members and attach the cross members to the vertical side members of each door frame. ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL THE DOOR After anchoring the greenhouse frame, assemble the door. NOTE: The following photos may show a door of a different color or slightly different design. The assembly and installation procedures are the same for all similar doors and applications. Complete these steps to assemble and attach the door to the greenhouse frame. 1. Locate all door parts and assemble them on a clean surface. (You may want to place and assemble the parts on cardboard to protect the finish.) View shows the back of the door frame.
